GU10 light bulbs not included and don’t fit!JulieSuch a beautiful lamp - all the articulation arms that allow you to set the lamp up for perfect task lighting is there. BUT (and it’s a big BUTT) They don’t include the bulb… and although I’ve ordered several brands of LED GU10 bulbs as specified in the instructions, NONE of them are easy to install. Fingers do NOT fit between the bulb and the shade, so could not possibly accomplish grip for the precision and force required to set the bulb in securely. I could get it to make contact but couldn’t apply enough twisting force to seat the bulb properly in the socket. After reading many reddit threads it’s a chronic issue and people complain about it all the time. A few people have been successful using suction cups for halogen bulbs.
I will be returning to the store AND I will be challenging the desk staff to insert the bulb in front of me!!!!
Switch gets too hot to turn offAna MariaI am not sure if it's just my lamp, but the switch that doubles as the head of the lamp gets extremely hot after use, and it's hard to turn off without burning your fingers! I'm disappointed because I really like the lamp in every other way.
Uneven Quality on Socket/Switch PartDarcyI am writing this review because I was shopping for a replacement floor light and I was shocked that IKEA was still selling this one. I already had to exchange this lamp one time because the switch only worked sporadically. The replacement worked a little while and then the bulb would just turn off as though it was preventing overheating. But its an LED bulb so it shouldn't generate heat! But finally I looked at the socket and the plastic around it had actually melted down. I am having to throw it out because its a little more than a year later (I don't use it very often) so IKEA won't back it up even though it was clearly defective. Light bulbs are also very difficult to install and they don't even include it which is nuts because it is an odd bubl. I agree with the other reviewer, I am going to stay away from lamps that use this type of bulb.
Bright Reading LightPamelaThis floor lamp is unobtrusive and provides good directed light whether you are reading or attempting to focus on something small as threading a needle. It really illuminates well. It does require a special light bulb. Use will tell how long it will last before needing replacing.

Half way to perfectionYanLove the color, the quality, and the simplistic style. It fits with my IKEA sofa like it was made for each other. The problem is that for a reading light it is too bright and there is no dimmable nob like other NYMANE reading lights. So that is a design flaw. Like many other reviews, I also prefer the switch to be at eye level when sitting down, which is exactly where the wire attach to the upper half. That would've been a perfect place to make a dimmable switch. The price is also too steep. I think it should cost 40% less. So yeah it is a half way point of a great product. I still keep it because there is no other alternative that I like.
Aesthetically beautiful, button could be betterIndyI've had the lamp for a few days and I love how it looks in the space. Feels very durable and was really easy to assemble. I didn't have issues with the light bulb- it just takes a little patience. Align the plug with the holes and twist.
What would make this lamp PERFECT at least for my needs is if the light switch were somewhere else. I think it's creative that the on/off button is built into the back of the cylinder, but I'm using this beside my bed and it's a bit annoying to reach and turn it off when it's lights out. It also takes more effort to push than I'd like. A light switch probably would have been easier. Only time will tell whether the button will give out over the years, but I hope it lasts long because the light itself is beautiful.

Let me tell you how to turn it on….SuzieIKEA is amazing with clear directions and this lamp is a beauty and easy to assemble with a few twists. However, I could not find the on switch!!! No toggle. No traditional button. ANSWER: the light head itself is a giant button! On off mechanism is the back of the lamp head - the entire lamp head butt piece is the on-off button!!!! Felt pretty stupid for having no idea how to operate…Varsågod!!! (you’re welcome!)
Light is great. Heavy weighted bottom ensures solid placement. Very adaptive with many joints that are sturdy…sleek design, bright spot lamp.
