It’s also modular thinking that simplifies the production and lowers the cost. And since NÄMMARÖ doesn’t have any curved shapes, the products are easy to pack in flat packages.” It contributes to a lower price and saves valuable space during transport – all the way from the factory to the customer’s home.

Seal it firstLaurieWe love our new table (purchased in July). Straightforward instructions, sturdy, looks great. The advice is to seal the wood once a season, but after the first rain one side of our tabletop that didn't receive direct sunlight has dark/black splotches. It's not mildew/won't clean off, and nothing was sitting on top to cause staining. Apparently just a poor seal that allowed water in and reacted with the wood. I don't know what we can do about it and it's really frustrating - if there was any advice to add a sealing coat immediately we'd have done it. Anyway, just a caveat.

QC issues and hard to cleanAnonymous reviewerOverall, this is a reasonably nice table. The design is minimalist and attractive, and it feels quite sturdy given the relatively lean design. However, I'm docking one stars for the following reasons
1. My table came with a warped support piece for table top. It was far too warped for the item to be assembled. This being a wood product, this is in and of itself forgivable. What's not forgivable is Ikea's policy for rectigying the situation. This table must be picked up from the warehouse, not the main store. However, I was required to bring back the warped piece to the main store then go to the warehouse to retrieve the replacement. I should have been sent a new on by mail rather than needing to spend over an hour driving around to replace one piece.
2. I'm docking another star because this table is quite hard to clean. Food gets between the slats and is very tedious to remove.
Nice table, questionable long-term qualityMichelleThis table assembled pretty easily. It looks nice and seats about three on each side. People could sit on the end if they're not worried about the cross bar on the floor. One of the support boards was warped and so we had trouble getting in one of the screws. But it didn't seem to matter leaving it out. I doubt this will last well outside over more than a season or two, but we are hopeful.
