Attractive Privacy ScreenAndreaI bought this to add a layer of privacy for our outdoor shower. The screen was easy to assemble and it's very attractive. However the slats aren't closely placed together, so it's really not "private." Also, the screen should be one foot higher so you can't see the person's head as they are changing. But we will keep it because it's decorative and we can likely use it in the garden.
Attractive with limitsLaveraThe more negative reviews notwithstanding, this is an attractive Ikea offering. I needed a screen to block off a view in one of my rooms and the catalog image made this seem fabulous. Unfortunately it is way too short and the slats are too far apart so it functions more like a distraction from what I wanted to hide rather obstructing the view altogether. I found two of them in the "As-Is" discount section of the store so (1) I didn't have to assemble it and (2) the price for two was less than the price of 1 unassembled. I can't complain overall especially since it is a very attractive design.
Broke from the wind DevonMine catch and keep blowing over from the wind so I have had them less than 4 months and have to throw them away since they are now broken
Absolute Junque.MeAs others have commented, this assembly is annoying and not worth it. Also not worth it: the price for what you get. It's too short to be of much use as an outdoor privacy screen, and it's not stable for use in any kind of windy location. Overall I'd say don't buy. I would've been better off DIYing something.
Very short, feet don’t attachJoshThis is less than 5ft tall and has large size space between slats. Feet don’t bolt on in any secure fashion—the slatted wall sits in these feet sort of like shoes. You lift the divider, the feet don’t come with it.
Buyer BewareFinnThis is the first IKEA product I’ve had a genuinely negative experience with, and the issues were both with assembly and overall quality.
I initially built the screen according to the instructions, but noticed that the 1009481 connector screws on one side would not sit flush if one side were already in. The wooden slats at the top were also visibly misaligned. Assuming I had made a mistake, I disassembled and rebuilt the entire unit.
During the rebuild, I discovered that several of the 1009481 threaded connector screws that install into the metal rods would only turn a few rotations before binding. Some became extremely difficult or impossible to remove once partially inserted. After carefully re-aligning the slats again, it became clear that several were slightly warped.
Unfortunately, I live too far from a store to return it. Overall, this was a very frustrating build and not the level of quality I expect at this price point.

Good lookingJerseyGood looking little privacy screen. I had a hard time screwing the bolts down tight enough on the aluminum cross pieces so it came out a little wobbly. Also, I recommend removing all of the stickers before you put this together because they are impossible to remove. I had to use a scraper and dinged one of the slats.
