Looks great, builds like a nightmareMichaelOnce assembled, this cabinet looks fantastic — sleek, sturdy, and high-end. Getting there, however, is pure chaos.
The instructions are awful. The orientation of the cabinet constantly changes between steps, so you’re always second-guessing which side you’re even looking at. At one point, they have you install a top cross bar backwards — not confusing, just flat-out wrong — which you won’t realize until later when things don’t line up.
And the best part? They tell you to measure mounting holes after full assembly. So now you’re trying to hold a heavy, awkward cabinet against the wall while measuring. Brilliant.
Great product, terrible instructions. Would not wish this build on my worst enemy.

Cool product, difficult assemblyHenryI’m a big fan of this product however the threaded screen holes are extremely difficult to screw into. I had to use a drill to open the holes and friction fit the screw components.
Attractive and sturdyJohnThe whole MOSSJON series is probably my favorite IKEA wall storage cabinets. Be wary of installing the top bar, however; the instructions are NOT clear, so make sure you have it positioned so that the larger hole is on top. People who have had problems with the screw/hinge must've had that bar installed upside down which is a very easy mistake to make. In addition, I highly recommend hoisting this against the wall in order to mark where the wall screws are supposed to go BEFORE putting in the walls. Same thing with the rubber screw things that hold up the glass shelves: install those before putting this against the wall. Those three steps will make the installation of this a heck of a lot easier. Once completed, this is such an attractive cabinet. I have received many compliments on mine, and I have two of these installed next to each other so it looks like one big cabinet.
Great piece but difficult assembly.ThomasNow that it's done I am very pleased with this piece. It's a metal frame with glass panels and shelves. Bottom two shelves are also metal. It's a great design and very functional in our space. However, the assembly instructions could be better. My tips:
1. If possible, assemble on a large table, it will save your knees and back
2. Before you start assembling, know which way you want the door to open. At Step 9 it tells you to go to another page if you want it to open left to right (as of March 2026)
3. In steps 4 and 5 make sure your outermost bottom cross bar has the two holes facing inward for installing the magnetic door-catch.
4. Once the frame is assembled, look at the next few steps (10, 11, 12 as of March 2026) Before proceeding, measure your interior shelves and put in the shelf pins. They have you do this once it's hung and it is the hardest thing I have ever done with an Ikea piece. I literally cried.
If you can afford it, pay for assembly!

part quality is not goodAnonymous revieweri love the look of this piece. however, the amount of difficult to install phillips head screws and opportunities for stripped threads/heads is quite high. having to wait 7-10 days for a replacement part because a screw immediately strips upon installation is not ideal for any piece, but especially not something with this much glass.
Attractive, functional perfect sizeNickiPurchased for small bathroom storage. Narrow wall space made this narrow, short depth perfect cabinet choice. Love glass shelves. Put motion light inside that illuminates great through shelves. Took some time to install and 2 people at times. Printed Instructions not great so made couple mistakes that had to be redone. Wish it had magnetic door latch, will be adding on our own. Glass front attractive.

Perfect for barware.TonyI agree that putting the door on was a nightmare, but with a little patience, I figured it out. I am using the MOSSJÖN cabinet for drinkware/glass storage in my bar area and it looks absolutely gorgeous!
Hinge FixAnne-Marie Beautiful cabinet. I got one with the top hinge issue. It’s an easy fix if you have the tools (which I did). I use a drill for everything and had the drillbit set with the hex keys. Insert the top hinge screw from the bottom of the bar. Then use the drill from the top applying pressure with something from the bottom on the hinge part and just keep drilling up through the metal. The screw will come through. Put the door on then screw back down. And it’s done.
Beautiful and FunctionalCassandraRecently completed an upstairs bath renovation. Needed additional storage . This is elegant, easy to put together and sturdy. It looks amazing. I am ordering at least one more for another renovation and likely another for the third.

Another screw hinge issue Anonymous reviewerI have two of these cabinets. As mentioned in many comments, I had installed one bar reversed in the first build, so I had trouble getting the hinge screw on. The good people who wrote helpful reviews saved me there.
On the second one, the door hinge screw is manufactured completely reversed from the first unit’s hinge. The side with the socket is on the end with the flat section rather than the end with the threads. Also, the hinge has three different diameters and neither end fits inside the door hole.
It’s a nice looking cabinet, but these simple manufacturing problems have turned into a big headache.

Thank you to the person who mentioned this earlier. I was about to take the whole thing back to Ikea after struggling with the screw for 15 minutes, and randomly decided to look at reviews at 2 AM. I immediately got up to try it and voilà! The instructions should probably be improved, but it's a beautiful piece. I'm using it in my bedroom to store my make-up (on the ground, not mounted). I love it.
Nice bathroom cabinetGwendolynI just put the cabinet together. It is pretty straightforward until the top hinge door assembly. After trying for a while and not being successful, I figured out that the screw needs to go in from the bottom, and that the top needs to be unscrewed again. Do that and then it can be easily assembled. Otherwise great cabinet, well made.
Nice cabinet but VERY heavyStefanIt came out great but I'm genuinely unsure of how to mount the cabinet. I'ts pretty darn heavy while empty and im sure will be much heavier after its filled, and it's not wide enough to hit studs. I still haven't hung it as im debating whether toggle bolts will support the weight and if i want to take the risk.

We spend a lot of time in the bathroom, but don't always give this functional space enough attention when it comes to aesthetics. I understand why, but it doesn't have to be like this. That's why I wanted MOSSJÖN cabinet to look really good – stylishly neutral yet with a distinct character. I also wanted curious eyes to get a hint of what's inside through the reeded glass. It makes the cabinet come alive, without it feeling cluttered. Form and function in lovely harmony!
