Hanging instructions DaveIt would be helpful if you provided ANY guidance on the hardware needed to hang this cabinet3
Can’t switch door ThaoIt looks nice and sleek, just wish I can change the door hinges to the other side so I can open the door on the other side. Can’t hang it upside down either lol4
DOOR HINGE ISSUE? FLIP THE BAR UPSIDE DOWN!!!DesireeTo the people saying their unit is faulty because the top screw for the door hinge won't go in, flip the bar upside down (so the larger holes are on top).
Thank you to the person who mentioned this earlier. I was about to take the whole thing back to Ikea after struggling with the screw for 15 minutes, and randomly decided to look at reviews at 2 AM. I immediately got up to try it and voilà! The instructions should probably be improved, but it's a beautiful piece. I'm using it in my bedroom to store my make-up (on the ground, not mounted). I love it.5
Nice bathroom cabinetGwendolynI just put the cabinet together. It is pretty straightforward until the top hinge door assembly. After trying for a while and not being successful, I figured out that the screw needs to go in from the bottom, and that the top needs to be unscrewed again. Do that and then it can be easily assembled. Otherwise great cabinet, well made.4
Nice cabinet but VERY heavyStefanIt came out great but I'm genuinely unsure of how to mount the cabinet. I'ts pretty darn heavy while empty and im sure will be much heavier after its filled, and it's not wide enough to hit studs. I still haven't hung it as im debating whether toggle bolts will support the weight and if i want to take the risk. 3
Functional and great update for bathroom storage.KarenLovely addition for our bathroom update, the reeded glass was the reason I purchased this.5
Slim StorageElmerGreat storage for bathroom items. It fit great because it was only 7 1/8 in depth. I was looking for something that wouldn't come out too much out of the wall. It is superb, like the obscure glass. 5
Nice addition BrennaI’m using this as a medicine cabinet in my bathroom. It is very well-made, beautiful and functional. It took me about 20 minutes to put it together and get it up on the wall. I am thinking about getting the next size up that has legs. I can highly recommend this item5
A Real Pain to Put TogetherAbbyThis is a great looking piece, or at least I'm sure it will be once I wait weeks to get the parts I needed replaced and hope that the new parts actually fit. I wish I had read reviews, but like many others, I had major issues with step #17 (the screw that's supposed to hold the door) and the door handle also. Because I couldn't just run back to Ikea and wait in a long line to grab replacement parts, I have to go through a whole process to get them sent to me that takes a couple weeks. I've put together so many Ikea and other brands of furniture and this was by far the most frustrating.3
Beautiful cabinetCynthiaCabinet was easy to assemble and perfect for the space5
Just like the pictureEsterlinaGood quality 5
Perfect Bathroom FitCindyWe needed a wall cabinet suitable for taller bath products that won’t fit in vanity drawers and not so deep that it hung into the room. Perfect solution with a modern look. 5
perfect addition to bathroomBeverlyThe assembly was quick and easy, The final look was even better. Elevates the space. I would buy it again for sure. 5
To people with the door hinge screw issue.DanIt isn't faulty, you put the bar the screw goes into upside down. Both sides look very similar, so it's an easy mistake to make, but it's critical to catching the screw properly.
Take the bar out, you won't have to disassemble much to do it, put it back in with the same hole upside down, the screw will go in without a problem.5
One of the best cabinets ever made by IKEA!MarcWonderfully high quality & sturdy / solid as a rock! Nicely detailed & accurate assembly instructions. 5
I can’t assemble!!!SimoneI bought 2 of these cabinets and the screw for the top hinge of the door is giving me a tough time. I still have not assembled them after having for 2 weeks. One screw is stuck and I’m too confused and worried to try again with the other unit. IKEA was not able to help at all except for offering to swap out one unit. I appreciate the generous offer but it is still not helpful without clear instructions to avoid this issue again. Help!!!1
Wall cabinet Anonymous reviewerIt was just the right fit for our bathroom to store the medicine 5
Adjusting anything after the build is difficultAnonymous reviewerI bought this from Ikea's As-is section, thinking it'd be great to save a few bucks. All I had to do was reverse the door swing, and it'd be perfect for my bathroom! Right? Right??
Well not so fast - problem is that in order to properly reverse the door, you basically have to take the whole thing apart again. You want the door stop in the bottom of the cabinet to be on the correct side, but in order to reverse it, you have to remove the side panels, the back, and the door...so many screws. Also, important to remember that you cannot easily change the height of each shelf as the shelf pins are also screws that go into the back. If you want to move the shelves, you have to remove lots of screws to rearrange the ones that are shelf pins and the ones that are just screws.
So crazy that it takes this much work to reverse the door swing and move shelves around. These seemingly minor adjustments should be easier, and shouldn't affect the structure of the whole cabinet. Poor engineering.4
Loved the cabinet, but lack in instructionsHelenFirst, I bought two to put over my toilet in a very small bathroom. They look more high-end than you'd expect. Just be aware that the "glass" door is plastic. I'm okay with this for the price.
As for the installation, the instructions could be more explicit when installing in a couple of places. As some have mentioned screwing the door from the top never worked...well, that's because you needed to install the bars (a few steps ago) with the larger holes facing the top so that the door screws could fit downward. It isn't easy to distinguish the size of the holes in the diagram, and unfortunately, they didn't call that out.
After learning that, putting together the 2nd one was a breeze. 4
Could be perfect, but serious quality control issues M ToddWhat I like: beautiful cabinet, tall and narrow with lots of storage, anthracite color, glass design for front and sides, door handle is outstanding, wall attachment openings are big, entire build feels very secure (once you get through the very frustrating assembly), black covers for the wall attachment openings.
What needs improvement: I bought two of these, one of them had that insane top door screw issue. It’s crazy-making; The second one was fine and worked perfectly - that’s a quality issue, I was able to use a different screw to act as the hing and the top keeps it in place, wall-mounting should be easier and those leveling “U” brackets are a joke - why did t you use the wall bracket you use for other cabinets that work so perfectly? And that bottom shelf…, what were you thinking with it not attached? Finally, the screw hole and openings for the shelves was an hours long nightmare that could have been avoided with improved quality and clearer instruction. 3
