Quality has gone downhillShelbyI purchased one of these in mid-2020 for my dad's house and loved it. This past January (2025) I purchased one for myself (both Gunnared grey) and I'm not a fan. The quality difference is staggering. The only reason I didn't bother returning it is because I had paid movers to get to the second floor of my townhouse and didn't want to bother paying them to get it down again. The stitching on my couch is sloppy. The stitches are very large and in not quite the right thread color, making them more visible. There were tons of loose threads too. The fabric feels like a looser/coarser weave and is scratchier than the older one. The pillows all seem less dense. The one on the chaise part in particular seemed significantly thinner. About 6 months in, I started feeling like I was creating flattened areas where I sit regularly. I live alone and am quite petite, so it's rather absurd that my ~105lbs would make such an impact in so short a time. Meanwhile, my dad's still looks great!2
shows so much wear after only a couple monthsKatelynI've had this couch for only a few months and by month two the cushions were already deflated and the fabric is horrible. It pills constantly. I have to shave the fabric at least once a week and it will often have more pills even just 24 hours later it is so annoying. Really regret this purchase. 2
Great CouchRobertoNice and comortable couch, enjoyed it for my living room. 5
COVER IS NON-REMOVABLEDaisyI originally bought this from the AS-IS section of the store. My only problem is that the cover is non removable even though the cushions come with zippers? The chaise isn't leveled to match the rest of the couch, Its a weird design idk.2
Beautiful sofaKateThe blue velvet is so pretty! The sofa is comfortable - my husband loves the chaise. The fabric does attract lint. I would not buy it if your pet sheds a lot. 5
Bad quality design, don't waste your moneyAlejandroI bought this couch last year, a bit over 12mo. The main issue I have is with the armrest, which are made of plywood. Plywood! Of course, it broke, by simply applying (normal) pressure with the elbow. And it is impossible to fix. How in the world this is made of plywood?! I know IKEA is cheap, but I have owned other couches in the past, without issues. IKEA customer support said there is nothing they can do. It is hard to believe this product has passed any QC controls. This is an absolute waste of time and money, stay away. 1
Fabric is coming apartJosiahI have had this sofa for one month, and the fabric on the sofa is coming apart on the seams and little strings are poking out all over. Also the fabric is sagging on the arms. At this rate, I can't imagine this couch would last more than a year before it's complete unpresentable and will have to be replaced. Very dissapointing.1
Looks Great! But Won't LastBethI purchased the Morabo in blue velvet a little over a year ago. I didn’t plan to buy the velvet version but man did it look great in the store! Now I regret my decision, the velvet has faded rather quickly and now it looks blotchy and purple. It was great while it lasted, just be sure you take fading into consideration as it is not covered under warranty.2
Great couch!JaniceWe have had this couch for about a month now! So far so good! Love the color, and style. It is very comfortable! Assembly was relatively easy ( one person did it on their own).5
Not exactly velvetHeatherI love this couch. It's comfy and looks cool. However, I bought the blue velvet version, and the fabric is not exactly velvet. It's a little too course and the fibers are too short to be velvet. But, seeing as an actual velvet couch that looks like this would have cost me 1k more, I'm good with it.4
Small regret but overall great sofaCourtneyI previously had an IKEA sofa that lasted over 10 years. I loved the machine washable slip covers and credit that feature for the sofa lasting so long. That being said- I wrongly assumed that all ikea sofa’s came with machine washable slip covers. This couch does not. As a mom with 4 messy kids- I desperately rely on this feature. If I had known- I would have purchased the Finnala instead. Aside from being disappointed that the Morabo is not machine washable- it is a great little sofa. And IKEA- if you see this, please manufacture a washable slip cover for this sofa!3
like it, but there are a few issues!MohammadI bought the Gunnared dark gray and After about two months, the chaise collapsed a little and the fabric of the sofa seat got snagged.Maybe other fabrics are a better choice. My opinion is about this color.3
Comfortable and PrettyJenThis couch looks great in my minimalist style apartment!5
Great sofa & chaiseJohnWe like this versatile sofa & chaise very much. It was just what we were looking for & is very comfortable. It looks pretty in our living room & can be used for single bed for company.5
Comfy couchYuliaWell made nice and comfy couch5
Good couch, not so great fabricAnonymous reviewerThis couch is definitely family friendly, but the fabric isn’t, it stains really easy and hard to clean due to crevices in in the fabric. It was easy to put together though, I did it by myself so, common sense. The lounge part is also not as long as I’d hoped, I’m 5’8. Last thing, it’s would be perfect if the covers came off.3
