Varying qualityJamesGiven the MOPPE products have been out of stock for over a year, I purchased 5 of these via FB Marketplace and thrift stores. I can see that over the years, the quality has changed and the size changed a little bit once. The older ones are definitely more sturdy and the drawers slide easier on those old ones. The display models in the stores are okay, but the quality on the 2 units I have from nearly 20 years ago are superior.
Great product, horrible priceBenI purchased this when it was around $20. It's held up quite well, but I'm having a really hard time spending DOUBLE that price for more of them. I wish the prices at IKEA would return to affordable ones. I used to enjoy IKEA products because they were affordable and good quality. Literally I had an entire apartment full of IKEA products when I was single. Now they're just like every other store, expensive for no reason.
Unpolished and RoughJoshuaThe drawers are covered in sawdust, and has a rough texture that doesn't feel good when touched; Your hands will get covered in sawdust and chalk if you rub this thing. The wooden drawers are just boxes, and slide freely in and out of the shelf, creating even more sawdust. I do not feel comfortable putting my items in here. It's like they sold an unfinished product.

Not entirely plywoodChrisThe bottom of each drawer is some kind of cardboard. Wish they had made the entire thing out of plywood.
Nice storage boxNoraI saw someone on utube using this box to organize knitting supplies so I ordered it to do the same. It is perfect! Plenty of space for holding all my supplies (not including yarn).

looks good , fits my stuffJanI got 2 of these to replace the sun ravaged plastic drawers in my sewing room. They are bigger than I expected, and one now has all the notions, and one is full of buttons. The shelf looks so much better and things are easy to find.

Great but needs a quick sand on bottom edgesAprilGot 2 for using in bathroom. One for makeup and one for hair stuff. Look good and work perfect my stuff. The small minus ia the drawers are not the smoothest to pull in and out. They need a bit of sand and small bit of wax to get an easy glide, but small thing amd doesnt affect my 5 stars.

Huge decline in quality AshleyI have bought this product as it has come and gone over the years. I think my oldest one is from 2006. The older version of this was SOLID. It has held up for years and has nice thick sides. The new version is garbage. The sides are bendy since they are to thin, the finish is rough and splintery, and the drawers do not slide evenly. I was honestly shocked how much the product has changed and how cheap the new version looks.
Poor quality drawers, expect to sandPeterI had to sand the edges of all the drawers to make them functional. Ikea probably saved a few cents per unit in the manufacturing process by skipping that step, but it means the drawers don't slide well and are full of splinters.

Warped and Splintery - Quality Gone DownhillMorganI received a MOPPE storage chest in 2021 as a gift, and love it. I purchased another two this past week as a gift....I would be mortified to give or receive the 2024 version.
The wood on the newer version is mismatched - the joins are a dark, ugly grey - warped, and fits together terribly. Both side panels bend away from the top panel, making them impossible to join.
The entire top panel is concave, so things on top of the unit wobble.
Every drawer splinters when it is open, shut, or even grasped.
Every drawer sticks, and the drawers do not fit flush inside the shelves, leaving large gaps in the front of the unit.
All of these issues are direct comparisons with the older unit, and since the price stays the same for lower quality, it is quite the ripoff.
