Cute, but awkward to pour when fullSarahThe teapot is cute, and I like that the lid twists to lock securely in place. However, it is awkward to pour when relatively full. If tilted too far forward, tea can leak around the lid; when tilted upright, it may drip down the outside of the spout. It spilled less after some tea was removed, but I still had to avoid tilting it too far.
Although the listed capacity is 0.8 quart, I got about two larger mugs of tea, with a little left at the bottom. It is difficult to clean by hand because the raised ledge beneath the lid opening is hard to reach without working a washcloth underneath it. I prefer using a dish brush due to my disability. The narrow spout and built-in strainer holes may require a small brush, especially with loose-leaf tea.
Mine also has a small raised glaze imperfection on the handle. It does not affect use, but it was noticeable on a new product. Overall, it is attractive and usable, but the pouring and cleaning design make it less convenient than expected.
Perfect USEABLE teapot for tea partiesKarrieI searched everywhere for a tea set for my daughter's 8th birthday. All the sets I found were not food safe and only meant for imaginary play. They were so expensive. I saw this teapot and it was perfectly priced, designed, and food safe! The design is universal for modern or traditional settings. The small holes work well to help her be careful when pouring. It's breakable but not delicate. The teapot keeps drinks cold and hot for extended periods of time. We paired this teapot with Ikea's four espresso cups and saucers and they matched exactly. Each piece washes well in either the dishwasher or by hand. Bonus for helping my kids to get plenty of water throughout the day as it's more fun to drink in tiny "teacups". It looks nice in our antique cupboard full of white dishes. It was a great way to help teach our kids how to serve their guests. Plus it holds enough that I can use it too when entertaining!
