Rechargeable batteries are sold separately.The charging function of this product only works with rechargeable batteries. IKEA recommends LADDA 2450 mAh HR06 AA 1.2V. 4 pcs are required.

When fully charged, the lamp will illuminate at full brightness for approximately 8 hours. If you choose to dim the light to 30% brightness, it will illuminate for more than 24 hours.

Suitable for indoor and outdoor use.

Only use batteries that are intended for the product. Do not mix old and new batteries, different brands or types.

Built-in LED light source that lasts approx. 25,000 hours.

Observe the polarity marks plus (+) and minus (−) and ensure correct battery insertion into charger or product.

Great way to add light to shelvesRachelI have a studio with no overhead light, so I am always looking for ways to light it up! This lamp looks great on my shelves between books - I have three of them scattered around my shelves. I use rechargeable batteries so that I didn't have to deal with cords.5
Cute and useful, but fiddlyCaitlinNot sure what went wrong with everyone else's lamp, but mine works just fine! It stays on for a few hours before needing to be recharged, and it charges just fine (I use Ikea's rechargeable batteries). I love that it's multicolor and can be dimmed. The one complaint I have about it is that to change the color of the light, you have to unscrew the lampshade, and screwing it back on is VERY fiddly, the screw thread is very easy to misalign.4
Won't rechargeFinnLooks nice when it worked, but one month in, the charging light just flashes white and won't take charge. Useless1
Cute conceptually, not great in realityJovankaThe lamp itself is cute and inexpensive. The four rechargeable batteries are quite expensive, and so far, even after fully charging the batteries, the lamp stays on maybe 5-10 minutes. I'm not sure if this is a battery issue or lamp issue. But for the overall cost (lamp + batteries), I think this is overpriced. I may end up returning it. Still undecided.2

This lamp sucksEj CarlThe lamp is nice in size but the charging speeds is mediocre. It took mine 1 whole day of finish charging only to last 8 hours. I turned it on for 1 hour and it took 8 hours to charge. If they could find a way to make this charge faster, it would’ve been nice. And yes I used ikea accessories as well as my own. Not to mention the color change button is painfully placed inside the lamp. The shade is so hard to twist to lock. 3
Terrible lampEj CarlThe concept of the lamp itself is nice. Rechargeable, RGB and a portable but it’s so dumb how it takes 24 hours to charge. It’s ridiculous. I’ve used ikea accessories for it as well as ones I have and it’s the same. If this can charge let’s say in about 2 hours and last 8 hours, it would have been perfect. I’m returning this because it’s not nice. Another thing that irritates me is how tight it is to twist and lock the shade. Come on now, it should be nice and smooth because that’s how you change the color. It honestly would’ve been better if the color button was near the power button or better yet, charge $2 extra to make a remote. 1
