Garbage AustinThis shelf fails to hold firm to the wall. It has scratched and ruined the paint on the wall when trying to get it in place. Nothing about this product is of value. 1
Invisible shelves awesome lookTollieThese invisible shelving system is perfect. Each shelf is a good size to you’re able to put various items on them. They do need to be mounted to the wall however they create an awesome look. 5
Surprisingly easy to installJohnAll it took to hang this was a couple of sheetrock anchors, a measuring tape, a level, and a drill. It took all of about 5 minutes, and it's sturdy as well as attractive.5
Lack shelf is named appropriatelyThomasDo not buy this item!!! I found this item to be impossible to hang properly. No data supplied as to how much space is needed for the mounting screw to make contact with recessed mounting bracket. This results in a drooping shelf, pulled out wall anchors and your wall looking like Swiss cheese. Worst product ever from Ikea!1
OkaySaimaIt’s a good rack, but didn’t work for my space3
poor design, needs bracket to mountChristopherthese shelves are not designed to stay up and will rip out any anchors your put in your wall. these need a bracket similar to the larger lack shelves to have any sort of support and be worth using.2
Baby LackLudovicThis item is a welcome addition to the Lack family. It is well made, functional and sturdy.5
Lack shelves are the best GinaThey look so much more expensive than they are and are relatively easy to install well with minimal skill. 5
Shelves don’t workVeronicaI will be returning all 3 shelves, trying to install them was a nightmare and they wouldn’t even stay straight to be able to place a type of item on top, disappointing but I will return soon and get a refund. 1
Could have been goodBruceThe connection method is very poor as none of the shelves I purchased had mount points spaced the same or the distance that the instructions show. As I was trying to install them, they slid past the screw heads and then the screw heads in the wall ripped and broke the top of the shelves at their location. This was when they had slightly hooked onto the screw heads and then I was very lightly bumping them down with my hand to lock them onto the wall and screw heads. No hardware was provided. Going to return them as we purchased shelves with proper mounting using a wall bracket with poles coming off of it that go into the shelf and screw together under the shelf. Much more secure and not wobbly when mounted and much easier to install. 1
tricky to installDorothyIt took reading the reviews to learn there is no hardware included. I went to a hardware store for screws for my wood wall. You have to leave a bit of screw hanging out to get to the insertion point on the shelf but not too much or it won't be flush to wall. Hard to get both screws to slide in at the same time if not dead super straight - I had to tip one screw and in the process tore the very fragile cardboard top just over the screw location. I would ask for a replacement except I'd be afraid I'd never get the new one on without tearing as well. I need this shelf to hold a 3 lb. object. I'm testing it with soup cans to see if it falls off under that load because I don't want to damage my object.2
Do not buy for drywall useChelseaThese are not made for drywall. Drywall anchors will not work with the mounting design for these shelves. I bought these with the assumption they installed the same as my larger lack shelf, but they are a completely different design. 1
Great shelfJoe And LaurieEasy to put up5
Very niceAnnaI have a few lack shelves throughout my house and I love them, they make my walls look nice! 5
NOT COMPATIBLE WITH DRYWALLAnonymous reviewerThese cannot be securely mounted to drywall whatsoever. The bracket spacing does not match standard stud spacing in North America, so AT BEST you can get one side into something solid. The tiny mounting hardware on the back of these means ANY decently strong drywall anchor will NOT be usable for the other side. This shelf lasted only 10 days with less than 6lbs resting on it before pulling out of the wall. These would be fine on brick or concrete, but they NEED a floating frame like the longer variants of this shelf are included with to be usuable in any other situation. I guess you get what you pay for...1
No hardwarePrashiI’ve got a dry wall- but have no idea what screws or wall anchors I need to put these up—kind of lost here and would appreciate the customer service team getting back to me with some help finding these hardware items given my wall type. 1
Worst IKEA productYa-TingSuper difficult to install. Damage your wall easily. Please don’t buy1
No hardware to go with itSarahI bought several of these shelves, but there were no screws to attach them to the wall. I have had such a hard time finding something that works to hold these up. After several trips to the hardware store, I only have holes in my wall and no shelving. I thought IKEA items were supposed to come with everything you needed to put them together and install. Very disappointed. 1
Cool little shelf!MiaIt fits right where I needed It and it’s very functional 5
