Great shelves designNelson C.Sleek, sturdy and very trendy design, it can be placed almost anywhere, feels like it was designed just for me!5
Do not recommend, keeps falling offKhousie V.These were exactly what I been looking for. The problem is, it is super flimsy, keeps coming out of the bracket. Unfortunately I will end up keeping 6x of these because it's already screwed in my walls, but if I had to redo it, I would look elsewhere.2
Would leave zero stars if possible, why would they change a good product?Judah N.I have three Lack shelves that are almost ten years old, and I love them. They're durable and well built. This is not the same shelf. The shelf is thin, flimsy, and most unforgivably the mounting bracket does not line up with standard US-code spaced studs. The old shelf had a robust bracket that was covered in evenly-spaced holes that allowed for some misalignment and correction with your studs. This piece of garbage has a cheap aluminum bracket with what seems to be randomly (between 1.5" and 2.75") spaced holes. The bracket is so cheap and flimsy that it bent just from installing one screw into an actual stud, which misaligned the set screw that is supposed to secure this shelf to it's bracket. What a piece of garbage.1
Only good for lightweight itemsDiana J.I'll give this a 4 star rating because the quality and price are very good, however, you get what you pay for. I would only use it for lightweight items only (box of tissues, dried flowers, etc. It is not capable of supporting the weight of even a few books or magazines, as pictured), without sagging despite mounting the bracket into wall studs. Had to purchase another shelf that was more sturdy (and more $$), and discard this one.4
Lack floating shelvesEllen B.We got the white oak color great with or environment. A little difficult to install since or studs aren’t spaced the same as the install placement. We just added a support behind to attach to. They look good and hold glass and ceramic.4
Material is junkmarzouk m.Cheap material of construction. Never again will I buy something like this from IKEA1
These are my FAVORITEKatelyn B.I am obsessed with the look floating shelves give. I have always wanted some. I’ve looked at floating shelves at hardware stores like Home Depot and Lowe’s but the reviews are always terrible. This made me scared to actually get floating shelves. Nonetheless the good reviews on these convinced me and I bought four of them. I have two above my bed and another as a vanity desk. The other is above my television. They look so nice and are STURDY. I used drywall anchors to ensure they were mounted correctly and these things do not budge. They look amazing too. I plan on buying more.5
Good.... exceptChristopher W.The product would prob be great if the 5 screws not included were put on the outside of the lack shelf. After searching and searching I only found out it doesn't include 5 screws in the small print when reading the instructions. Frustrating.5
Love these!KATE W.Bought two of the 43” white shelves to add some storage to a home office. We have similar shelves from another store and the only visible difference is that these are thicker. These feel solid and look great in the space.5
PS5 Support Shelf - Looks nice, but wobblyBrandon D.The installation was pretty straight forward. I installed the center line holes into a stud and used plastic anchors for the other holes. I placed my PS5 and controllers on the shelf and it noticeably is slanted. I confirmed the weight the shelf can support AND the weight of the PS5 beforehand; the PS5 is less than the weight the lack holds and it seems like it should hold it accordingly w/o slanting. I have another shelf but am honestly not sure I will install it since it is so flimsy.3
Decent shelf, pretty flimsyJonathan L.The materials, price, design are all good however my biggest con is after installing this, it is really flimsy and not stable.3
PerfectSTACEY J.Looks great on the wall4
Great productAuttumnWe got this it put on top of our tv stand to put our consoles above the sound bar so it’s not actually in our wall but it’s great for sitting on top of a shelf5
Great Shelf!AdamThe shelf is very quick and easy to install. It has a very sturdy design that can support a surprisingly large amount of weight.5
Great ShelfGWENI absolutely love the Lack shelf! It was perfect for completing my wall!5
Easy to install to theLINAEasy to install to the wall.5
not sturdy at allKathyNo matter what I did to hang this on the wall it was not sturdy. We ended up getting something different for my daughter to put her books on.3
Lack shelfCourtneyGood quality, exactly as pictured. Does not look high end. Slight hang down in from when installed4
Perfect and easy to mountHERBERT W.I purchased for of these for a renovated room. I looked around and most similar solid wood ones were in the hundreds of dollars each. The Ikea shelves were shipped to our house and we're very easy to install - lined up holes with studs to ensure support.5

Our take on wood

Wood is the material most commonly associated with IKEA furniture, and for good reasons. It’s renewable, recyclable, durable, ages beautifully and it is an important part of our Scandinavian design heritage. At IKEA, we believe that sourced in responsible way, wood is a key change driver for climate mitigation. In 2012, we set a goal that by 2020 our wood would be from more sustainable sources. We are happy to announce that we have reached this goal and today, more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

Forests are critical for life on earth

Forests contribute to maintaining balance in the atmosphere, purify the air that we breathe and are part of the water cycle. They nourish wildlife biodiversity and provide homes for indigenous communities who depend on forests for their livelihoods. 90% of plant and animal species living on the planet need forests to survive. They provide sources of food, fuel, timber and many other ecosystem services that we rely upon. Sourcing approximately 19 million m3 of roundwood per year from some 50 countries, IKEA has a significant impact on the world’s forests and the timber industry and a huge responsibility to positively influence how wood is sourced. Responsible wood sourcing and forest management ensure that the needs of people dependent on forests are met, that businesses can work sustainably, that forest ecosystems are protected and biodiversity is enhanced.

100% wood from more sustainable sources

At IKEA, we work with strict industry standards to promote responsible forestry. We don’t allow any wood in our supply chain from forest areas that are illegal or contain high conservation values or from forest areas with social conflict. Before starting to work with IKEA, suppliers must demonstrate that they meet IKEA critical requirements on wood sourcing. IKEA requires all suppliers to source wood from more sustainable sources (FSC-certified or recycled wood). All suppliers are audited regularly and non-compliant suppliers are required to implement immediate corrective actions. By working together with our suppliers, we are proud to announce that we have reached our more sustainable sources goal, which we set out to achieve by 2020. Today more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030

As pressure on the world’s forests and the surrounding eco-systems increases due to unsustainable agriculture, the expansion of infrastructure and illegal logging, it is time to take an even more holistic approach to protect and support these important resources for generations to come. The IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030 set out to improve forest management, enhance biodiversity, mitigate climate change and support the rights and needs of people who depend on forests across the whole supply chain and drive innovation to use wood in even smarter ways. The agenda focuses on three key areas: • Making responsible forest management the norm across the world. • Halting deforestation and reforesting degraded landscapes. • Driving innovation to use wood in smarter ways by designing all products from the very beginning to be reused, refurbished, remanufactured, and eventually recycled.

We accomplish more by working together

For many years, IKEA has partnered with businesses, governments, social groups and non-governmental organisations to fight forest degradation and deforestation and increase the volume and availability of wood from responsibly managed forests both for our own supply chain and beyond. We are on a journey to improve global forest management and make responsible wood sourcing the industry standard, contributing to building resilient forest landscapes and improve biodiversity.

What is constructed board?

We use constructed boards when manufacturing many of our pieces of furniture, such as tables and wardrobes. They are light yet still stable and strong. Each board has a frame made of chipboard, fiberboard or solid wood, while the inside is a honeycomb filling structure made of mostly recycled paper, which is extra durable thanks to its special construction. The board is then covered with a protective paint, foil or veneer depending on the style wanted.
