The metal ring is malformedLorieThe closure is not made properly. When you attempt to close the lid, the metal ring on the lid slips off the front. It's too tight and almost feels like it may crack the glass. It's not usable in its current condition.1

Preserving food and all its flavor

KORKEN jars are ideal for preserving jams, pickles or other homemade treats. The aroma-tight seal helps to lock in flavor and since the jars are made of glass, you can easily see what’s inside, increasing the chance that food gets eaten and not thrown away.

Material

What is glass?

Glass is mainly made of sand, soda, and lime melted at a high temperature. Tempering or various additives gives you extra-strong and impact-resistant glass that in some cases can be taken straight from freezer to oven without cracking. A big benefit is how glass can be recycled over and over without the quality deteriorating. Also, a lot less energy is needed to melt recycled glass compared to new raw materials. Our goal is to eventually use only recycled glass in our range.
