Love the shoe rack.EarleenI need another one, they only had one in stock. I love the entire PAX system. It’s hard to gather all the pieces but so worth the trouble.5
Wrong size threadsHolland S.The threaded holes on the support sides have been mis sized and therefore I cannot attach the top shelf. The 16 screws drop right through and don’t bite.2
Awsome shoe storageTARIQGreat option or shoe storage, but it is always out of stock.5
EssentialAlainThis shoe rack is an essential part of the closet we designed. It works as well as expected or better.5
Nice quality sturdyMashuk R.Works great for my closet, good quality, functional for my need5
FlimsyWernerCrude design with too many parts promise problematic functionality. Unfortunately this is the only shoe storage option for the 22" deep pax frame.1
Shoe KeeperEdwardSturdy, well made device that stores and then makes shoes easily available.5
Pax ClosetJENESEGreat system, easy to build. I’m so excited for my new closet.5
love these shoe racksMarcThese fit in Pax system. Easy to put together and hold a lot of shoes. Love them.5
OrganizationcuratestewartThis was great in organizing my shoes. Love it! Easy to assemble5
Really good!Humbertin1Good amount of shoes and display.5
Lesson learnedWhyyesIamarocketscientistFour stars because this just doesn’t look as nice as most of the other komplement accessories. There are gaps between pieces when assembled. It also doesn’t quite hold 3 pairs of my husbands’ size 11.5 work and tennis shoes across the bottom shelf without one shoe being askew, so it only holds 5 pairs of large shoes neatly. (Holds 3 pairs on the top OK because there’s no lip on the sides.) Lastly, I noticed other reviews saying the shelf doesn’t fit with doors. I had that problem, too, which confused me because I’d played with it in the store and didn’t have that problem. When I combed the instructions, I saw I’d put the top shelf on backwards. Very, very easy mistake because it’s opposite of the bottom shelf. Luckily, it could easily be fixed in place and now no problems. I share this info so that you can learn from my mistake and pay close attention to the picture in the last step of the instructions. ;-)4
Size is offnodariToo narrow. It is not 29 1/2. Shelf is 26. How is it suppose to be installed? We put rails in and both shelves are too small to reach both. Ikea door box openning is 29 1/2. $49 for delivery?1
Stupid designsmartbuyerOnce we install it, it become obvious that if you have doors in this closet, it won't closed because these shelves are sticking out.1
Fantastic!shoppingismygameWe bought this when i decided that i am in need of a bigger wardrobe than my regular dresser. This was one of the many additional way to organize my shoes that I am loving so much. It is easy to see the shoes that I have and to access them is a plus!!!5
Too small for my size 6.5 shoes & Waste of SpaceSJH DesignsReplacing my shoe cabinets because I moved and the new home owners inherited them. What a sad disappointment the new Komplement Pullout show shelf is. My high heels don't fit, One shelf only fits 3 pair of shoes and they look a mess! in the 19 x 90 x 22 Pax, I can only fit 7 shelves to accommodate high heels and I can't longer see my shoes at the higher level. I'll be taking these back! took all day to put theses stupid shelves together too >:-( Sad Disappointment!1
Difficult Installationsidber7Once I installed it, I loved it. But the installation was extremely difficult1
Shoe rackNena61Awesome way to organize and see your shows when needed.5
It works if your PAX system doesn't have doorsMichael Ding YiThe 4* is for the fact that the product is relatively easy to install, looks not bad, and the build quality is solid. However, it doesn't work if your PAX wardrobe has doors. The problem is that IKEA never specified that this would ONLY work on those open PAX systems. This rack becomes too long after installation, and it becomes impossible to close the doors fully. So the item itself is quite good, but it only works IF you have an open PAX system without doors.4
Have a little look around — not too obviously, just a peek. Chances are, even if it's just different colored socks or another color of scarf, there's no one dressing exactly the same as you right now.
Which is why it stands to reason that our clothes storage shouldn't be exactly the same either. It's this idea that led us to develop the PAX/KOMPLEMENT clothes and shoes storage. Designed so that no matter what your passion, fashion or personality, your clothes and accessories will have a practical home.
The evolution of storage
It just takes a look through a photo album to see that some of the clothes we used to love might make us wonder 'what was I thinking?' today. And as the way we dress has changed over the years, so too has our approach to making storage at IKEA. That's why we've designed PAX/KOMPLEMENT clothes and shoes storage to adapt to how you would like to store your things, rather than trying to fit your clothes and accessories into an unsuitable space. An idea that's shaped its whole development.
The only similarity is difference
“Most people dream of having an organized wardrobe where they can see all their clothes and accessories. But that's where the similarities end", says Betina Tviis Larsson who developed the PAX/KOMPLEMENT system. Traditional storage often shoehorns you into doing things a set way, whether its folding t-shirts or sorting out a sock drawer – something Betina wanted PAX/KOMPLEMENT to step away from. "We didn't want to say there's a right way or wrong way to organize your clothes. If you want to hang your jeans by their belt loops we want you to be able to do it”, Betina says.
Multiple personality order
To get the design process off on the right foot, the design team focused on what kinds of storage do different people need. "We started by speaking to a lot different people in the team and around IKEA to try and determine different personalities and different needs", Betina explains. And what we ending up with was this a big inventory of preferences and types of things that needed to be stored". By designing around personalities, the team started to develop types of storage that would fit collectors and families just as easily as minimalists and people with very little space. "The whole idea that defined the project became, don't change your personality, change your wardrobe instead", Betina says.
Fitting in function
Bringing this research together, the result is a series of interior organizers that can be adapted for particular uses, from multi-purpose drawers and hangers, to specific features for everything from shoes, to pants, to jewelry. The idea is that each organizer can be mixed or repeated as you choose, so if you want to store your whole sneaker collection inside, or have everything hanging, you can. "I really like to use space in a good way", Betina says. "With this system you can tailor your one wardrobe frame into hundreds of combinations." So whether you're a 'super organizer' or a 'piler' type of clothes person we hope you'll be able to match your storage to suit your style.
What is steel?
Steel has unique characteristics when it is stretched and shaped since it remains strong. It provides strength to everything from skyscrapers and cars to bed frames and outdoor furniture. The steel industry is moving in the direction of more energy-efficient production and stronger steel qualities. It doesn’t lose any of its properties when recycled and today steel is one of the most recycled materials in the world.
"What was difficult but also fun about designing KOMPLEMENT series was the challenge of finding a common look and style for many different functions. We wanted the design to work for elegant glass drawers as well as trouser hangers and shoe shelves. Everything should look beautiful together, no matter which interior organizers you choose. The idea behind KOMPLEMENT is to make it easier for you to find your favorite clothes and accessories. That’s why the interior organizers have a neutral style, with soft friendly shapes that show what’s inside.”
