Quality decline from 2020KatiMy husband and I purchased the PAX system for a closet remodel in 2020. The 2020 Komplement drawer sliders were MUCH higher quality, you could just slightly push the drawers and they would slide in and slow-close. These ones you have to assist all the way to close. Pretty lame, very disappointing. They also did not include the nice plastic cover that goes over the top front of the slide rail. Cutting costs and reducing quality, I'm over Ikea junk. Regretting installing this PAX system versus doing a custom closet build.2

Large drawers for Pax Closet systemDianeThey came as expected and one came slightly damaged inside but no one will see and since we live so far from an IKEA we couldn’t return it. It takes awhile to put together so we didn’t want the hassle. The slow close feature is nice. They are nice and large and you can fit lots of clothes inside even though my old closet system I had in my closet had larger drawers. This was adequate. The drawers are solid. You have to be gentle with them as you open and close them as they can seem to get messed up. You can mess up the alignment along the track.4
Lower qualityKayla5 years ago we installed a PAX system for the walk in closet. did some rearranging recently and needed to order a few more drawers to add to the existing layout. the rails do not come with the white plastic covering anymore so installed the metal rails show and it makes this already cheap system look even more cheap. Not happy2

Material

What is particleboard?

Particleboard is made from recycled wood and sawmill leftovers – so wood pieces with the wrong shade, woodchips and sawdust become a resource instead of possibly being discarded. We use boards for things like bookcases, bed frames, sofas and kitchen frames. To protect from wear and moisture, we apply varnish, veneer or foil that adds to the furniture's look.
