Couch feels like regretLaviniaNot comfortable, hard as a rock, too small both too short and not deep enough pink cover is made of what feels like scratchy burlap fabric. My fault for buying online. But this is the 3rd ikea sofa I've bought so I felt confident but very disappointed. Many cheap feeling things like legs just plastic that aren't even attached they just sit in hole. When putting together had to use a drill, two holes weren't lined up. Still can't get the two sectional pieces to clip together. Clip too small so they slowly slide apart. Would not recommend, definitely not for the 1500 I paid for it. 2
Love itLingEasy to clean and it can change the cover 5
Do not buyAnonymous reviewerI don't know why there are good reviews on this sectional, it looks absolutely hideous. I used to own a kivik sectional when I lived in Turkey and it was really nice. Nothing special, but it looked good in my living room and was very comfortable. So I ordered the exact same one when I moved to the US from the US Ikea. I was surprised when I saw the material of the covers, it looked like it was made from a burlap material. This should have stopped me from assembling the couch. But I completed the assembly and it looked unbelievably ugly. It looked like someone has chewed it and spit out to my living room - this is quite the accurate description. Check out the pictures of this sectional online before you buy it, they will give you a pretty accurate imag
That said, I have ordered other pieces of furniture from Ikea, like a dresser and a tv stand and they are amazing, good quality and everything you would expect from Ikea. But this couch.. I can not believe the sell something like this. 1
Great couch!Anonymous reviewerHad task rabbit assemble the couch - no issues there, super efficient and worth the money. Couch is firm and love the green corduroy covers. Highly recommend!5
KIVIK Sofa with ChaiseKellyWhat I love:
This Kivik sofa with a chaise is great for seating a group. We easily fit five kids and one or two adults for family movie night. And, as an added benefit, it's big enough for sleep-over guests. Two children or one adult can easily sleep on it. The seat cushions are quite firm, so that's a drawback for using it as an adult guest bed. Children don't mind at all, but for adult guests you will probably want to add a soft topper over the cushions for sleeping. Overall, it's perfect for what we wanted!5
Upholstery is super tightSaswatiSofa with chaise size is good. The only good thing. Cushion covers are so tight. Paid extra for the color I wanted. But broke finger nails shoving cushions into the covers. Ikea has to make these covers little more generous in size. I am pretty sure you cannot wash them as they will shrink and not fit at all. Cheap zippers. The chaise cover zipper broke while putting it on. Very disappointing. Will not buy Ikea furniture ever again. 2
Perfect Family CouchChristineWe put this together in about 2.5 hours, mostly one person with the second helping at some parts. YouTube has great vids on step by step too. The covers are durable, well made, velcro to the frame perfectly, no need to stretch or be exact, it just seems to fall into place. The frame itself is solid, fits all 4 of us and then some. Toddlers have been jumping all over it and no concerns. Color pops too! Plenty of complements. 5
Purchased this couch a 1-2 years agoIsisSo far it was fine, but the way it was designed has hardwood as the base and the arm rest built into it. My son has hit his head on the hardwood from simply laying on the couch and armrest. I would like to possibly change my couch if possible or get some kind of refund. It’s difficult to move and bring back to ikea would be too time consuming. Please reach out to me Ikea.2
Front Piece BrokeMelissaThe front part of the love seat popped out after less than a year. I am one person, not overweight and it just collapsed from me sitting down. Past the warranty of 180 days so 1000+ down the drain. Tried finding a replacement piece and they never responded.1
Nice sofa test but covers were nightmareMohsinI bought 2 seater and a 3 seater (with chaise). Frame assembly was fine but the covers were nightmare to put on. Cover literally started to get tear apart when I tried to stretch them out just so that they get onto frame properly. I would have recommended it if the covers alone were not that difficult to put on.2
Great value for money.ChristophGreat value for money.5
We live our kivik!Anonymous reviewerWe love how firm it is and color is beautiful. Only bummer is that literally it’s a like Lego you need to put it together from scratch. My husband was not so happy when he saw it but he did it.5
Better in person, turquoise dreams fulfilledRebeccaMy partner and I went to Ikea a few months prior and as soon as we saw this couch we fell in love. It's the perfect balance of firm and soft, the chaise itself is large enough for cuddles and cats combined! The gray/turquoise looks more like the online pictures close up. The one's that are farther away do not do this color/couch justice. Delivery was on time, however we were missing a few of the Chaise nuts and bolts. Luckily the local hardware store was able to provide substitutes. Would recommend hiring a task rabbit if you get the chaise as it's a bit more complicated for those without any experience in putting furniture together. Overall, its a perfect addition to a cozy boho living room.5
Wrong color, worst experience with deliveryValeriI had the worst shopping experience purchasing this couch. I was incredibly excited to receive this sectional. It was supposed to be delivered from 4-8 pm according to the tracking number. We waited until 11 pm and the couch never got delivered. After spending numerous hours on the phone with customer service, no one could locate my shipment. I had a phone call from the delivery driver the next day telling me they will be there in 5 minutes and had to take time off from work to come home. I was promised a compensation for my time and the late delivery but after trying to get in touch with anybody I gave up. Will not be purchasing from IKEA again. Very dissappointed. The covers I received were also blue and not darker (black) as they appear in the photos but I still can’t get in touch with anybody from customer service.1
great comfortable sofa and chaiseJamieWe had looked for a sofa/sectional for months. Finally found this one on IKEA and loved the look of it. We drove a couple hrs to IKEA and checked it out. Lucky we did as they only had 2 left. We ordered it and had it delivered. It's very comfortable. Took some work to put together. Husband used to work at a furniture store. We put sofa together the first day, then the chaise the next(only because we're a couple of senior citizens and were exhausted). Cushions went on well. Love that the covers can be washed or buy an extra set. I love, love, love this set. It opens my living area much better and more beachy colors.5
