Not medium firm-Very HARDLyndaThis is hard as a brick to sit on. It's miserable. Way too deep also...need extra pillows to sit upright. Had to buy other feet to raise height of loveseat. Very disappointed. Seat cushions can't be flipped as fabric on underside is cheap and flimsy and not the same as top of cushion. Have an Ektorp sofa from years ago that is far better quality. Not being able to remove an entire cover without disassembling is ridiculous. We expected more from Ikea! Wasted money on this Kivik! And be sure to get details straight with cost of Taskrabbit..They are bandits. Cost 3 times what expected to assemble. Overall an incredibly poor experience with this Kivik and Ikea.
Perfect for my needsBarbaraI looked at several loveseat/smaller sofas and chose KIVIK. I live too far from the store so ordered online after researching other models. I had it delivered inside my apartment since it was heavy and had TaskRabbit put it together. That was a wise decision since it involved many steps and some physical strength. I love the look of it and the comfort. It affords good support when sitting- I am 5'3"-and my cats love it for naps. Very pleased with all aspects of this purchase. Added bonus is I can replace the covers with other colors and textures.

Love it!MichelleOur second one, bought for another room. Easy to put together. We just wish the cover had a little more stretch to ease putting it on. Otherwise, sturdy and comfortable.
firm AND comfyLisaGot rid of a recliner sofa from LaZboy b/c it hurt my back. It was too deep and a little too squishy. This KIVIK is firmer, but not rock hard. And the depth is similar to the old sofa, but with the firmer cushions, it isn't hard to get out of and doesn't hurt my back. I've also napped on it several times, and was very comfy. I love the wide arms and got those IKEA arm covers (like little strips of joined wood) and it's really great to have all sorts of things sit on there without falling. The arms themselves would also support that, but I don't want them to get dirty. Overall, a great change in our home - especially with the matching ottoman! The only con was getting the covers on the sofa itself and the cushions was no easy task!
I couldn't be happierJonathanI'm very particular about my furniture. I'm a woodworker and I expect good quality. I was skeptical to say the least. I'm shocked. I assembled it in under an hour. The cover fits like a glove, the cushions are firm. It's low to the ground which I really like because I can sit and put my feet on the ground. The fabric seems very durable so I have confidence this will last a long time. Way to go IKEA!
Perfect for my small spaceTiffanyThe loveseat fits perfectly in my small studio apartment. I found it easy to assemble on my own -- it would probably be easier with 2, but was doable alone. Cover was obnoxious to put on, but now that it's on right and taut, it looks really nice and smooth. Super cozy and comfy -- I'm 5'1" and can laze out comfortably, especially since the arm rests are low enough to let you use them as head/feet rests.

Firm and soft at the same time equals comfortCeceliaThis loveseat is supportive and comfortable.
Great loveseatLoriI bought two of these loveseats for our HOA clubhouse. They were easy to put together. I spent more time ironing the covers than I did assembling the sofas. The dark grey color looks great. Sofas fit perfectly in a midcentury setting.
So uncomfortable!CaroleWe have an older Kivik in our family room and still love it. When it came time to purchase a new sofa for our living room, we didn't hesitate in considering another one.
The store sample seemed fine. The beige covers have been out of stock for ages, so we settled for light gray.
We've found this new version to be the most uncomfortable sofa we have ever sat on. The cushions have been over plumped, and are very bouncy. The older Kivik has more memory foam I believe. This sofa gives me neck pain, and I can't sit upright. I can't get comfortable. My husband is 6'1" and he has to put two pillows behind his back, not because the cushions are deeper, just because he needs the extra comfort.
As an experiment we moved our older cushions to the new frame. Total difference.
The whole sofa looks saggy and unkept. The cushions aren't particularly straight. They can't be flipped (unless you remove the entire interior and flip it). Certainly not the quality of the older version.
Great quality couch, amazing value.NikkiGreat quality couch, amazing value. We love this couch! Technically a love seat but quite spacious.
Comfortable and affordableNeilVery comfortable and is affordable. Like that you can change the color or just replace the cushions if they get ugly. Only negative thing i have with it is the arm rests sit a little lower than I would like.
Perfect casual loveseatStephanieLove the comfortable seating AND the wide arms for perching or holding your drink with the Rodeby slatted bamboo armrest cover.
Comfortable and heavy dutyJackI do not like that IKEA charges more for certain colors.
Seems rather ______.
