Quality Control issuesChristopherOut of the box, I noticed some damage inside one of the armrest where the particle board is thinnest. None of the pieces in both packages were covered in any kind of protective plastic like I've seen in Youtube videos which caused the wadding fabric to pill and have several imperfections.
The Covers were near impossible to put on the cushions. After assembly, this sofa felt nothing like what was on display. The backrest and seat cushions are way too firm. This is not comfortable at all.1
Very comfortableCherylI really like this couch. I even take naps on it. Pretty good and has good support. Easy to out together and also has a puch to put the tools incase you need to pull it apart. 5

I can feel the springs in the seat cushions!JenniferI tried this loveseat in the store and it was super comfortable. No springs, just firm foam cushions. Brought it home and the seat cushions were different - springs - with no padding between them and the surface of the cushion. It's less comfortable than a cheap mattress from the 1980s that you had to buy egg crate foam toppers to even use. I bought this for mid-afternoon naps in my office, but the springs dig into my ribs. It's not worth it to spend extra money to rig it to be more comfortable. What happened IKEA? Prices have gone up, but the quality has gone down. It used to be simple yet innovative design at a fair price, but now just crappy mid-century modern knock-offs. World Market has gone down the same road. 2
4 years in...Anonymous reviewerWe have two beige Kivik sofas. We purchased them four years ago and they have taken a beating from two young children and countless guests. Yet they still look almost new. Everything from red wine to chocolate to coffee has come out using our Bissel fabric cleaner. The cushions remain firm and plump. We are very happy customers and thankful to Ikea for making such a great product. 5
Love itMarinaI love this sofa. I love that you can add extra parts to it to make it bigger, and that the covers are washable and replaceable.5
Too expensive for the quality Kenneth$850 couch not worth it you get the same quality at a random garage sale. The fact the ikea is a build it yourself company the price plus building it. Not worth it regret the purchase 1
Absolutely phenomenal the KIVIK brand!SarahVery pleasant to the eye and a great purchase worth your money. I’ve had my KIVIK living room set including ottoman for a couple of years now and I’m a mother of four children, two bully breed dogs 48 lbs+ each pet weight, and never had no problems with experiencing sinkage or unevenness in the memory foam or sofa pillows at all. Believe me the removable fabric is just ever lasting materials with no fading in the dye after 30+ washes. Remember to air dry and not use a dryer for best results. Overall the KIVIK brand is a very outstanding product with absolute stability guaranteed to last for many more years to come. Thank you IKEA for such a great product with the best quality. I would recommend this product to friends and family. 5
holds up well over years of useMelindaI've had this loveseat as an only seating in a small living room for 6 or 7 years and it has been great! Over the years I've gotten a couple replacement covers, and each makes it feel like a brand new sofa! the cushions have held up well and the frame/hardware has done great being taken apart and back together to change covers (to wash or swap out).
My only complaint is the legs are 'just' tall enough for small dog toys to get under it and get stuck resulting in a stubborn French bulldog yelling endlessly at the sofa until lost toy is recovered. (so that is more of a negative dog review!).
My loveseat was purchased originally with the Hillared Anthracite and loved the look and feel of it, but did not hold up to a dog always wanting to scratch at cushions. We currently have the Tibbleby beige/gray which is much more durable but still comfortable. Both covers also have washed great and come out of the laundry looking like new.5
Love itEllenI do love the sofa and especially the dark green color I got. I'm a 40yo fat mostly able bodied woman and I was able to put it together myself. Actually the most frustrating part was getting the cushions in the covers. I do wish the arms were a little higher and allowed you lean or rest on them but I decided the comfy factor and color option outweighed the minor arm issue. I also go the chaise to add to the loveseat and love the set-up. I've had the couch for about a month and it's comfy and slowly breaking in. The back cushions are pretty stiff at first.4
Perfect Size!HopeThis loveseat is really perfect for my needs. I like the firm but plush cushions, the ability to change the cover/wash it easily, and the wide/square armrest. I can put my laptop on it and work easily. I am short, so it is also the perfect length for laying horizontally. 5
Not medium firm-Very HARDLyndaThis is hard as a brick to sit on. It's miserable. Way too deep also...need extra pillows to sit upright. Had to buy other feet to raise height of loveseat. Very disappointed. Seat cushions can't be flipped as fabric on underside is cheap and flimsy and not the same as top of cushion. Have an Ektorp sofa from years ago that is far better quality. Not being able to remove an entire cover without disassembling is ridiculous. We expected more from Ikea! Wasted money on this Kivik! And be sure to get details straight with cost of Taskrabbit..They are bandits. Cost 3 times what expected to assemble. Overall an incredibly poor experience with this Kivik and Ikea.1
Perfect for my needsBarbaraI looked at several loveseat/smaller sofas and chose KIVIK. I live too far from the store so ordered online after researching other models. I had it delivered inside my apartment since it was heavy and had TaskRabbit put it together. That was a wise decision since it involved many steps and some physical strength. I love the look of it and the comfort. It affords good support when sitting- I am 5'3"-and my cats love it for naps. Very pleased with all aspects of this purchase. Added bonus is I can replace the covers with other colors and textures.5

Love it!MichelleOur second one, bought for another room. Easy to put together. We just wish the cover had a little more stretch to ease putting it on. Otherwise, sturdy and comfortable.5
firm AND comfyLisaGot rid of a recliner sofa from LaZboy b/c it hurt my back. It was too deep and a little too squishy. This KIVIK is firmer, but not rock hard. And the depth is similar to the old sofa, but with the firmer cushions, it isn't hard to get out of and doesn't hurt my back. I've also napped on it several times, and was very comfy. I love the wide arms and got those IKEA arm covers (like little strips of joined wood) and it's really great to have all sorts of things sit on there without falling. The arms themselves would also support that, but I don't want them to get dirty. Overall, a great change in our home - especially with the matching ottoman! The only con was getting the covers on the sofa itself and the cushions was no easy task!5
Perfect for my small spaceTiffanyThe loveseat fits perfectly in my small studio apartment. I found it easy to assemble on my own -- it would probably be easier with 2, but was doable alone. Cover was obnoxious to put on, but now that it's on right and taut, it looks really nice and smooth. Super cozy and comfy -- I'm 5'1" and can laze out comfortably, especially since the arm rests are low enough to let you use them as head/feet rests.5
