Poor Quality AdamI’ve purchased the cover for my huge kivik that I love, it hasn’t been even a couple of months yet and it’s all pilling and looks terrible and old. My previous cover lasted for over 6 years! It’s a shame as I had to pay for the cover ($600) and Taskrabbit to have it installed. And I cannot return it!
Beautiful color; doesn't wear wellErickaWe love our Kivik giant couch and have been grateful for the ease of shifting out covers. I was SO excited for the deep green of the Tallymyra Dark Green cover but oof...it was a disappointment. The color is lovely, and the chenille fabric soft. BUT- not only does it collect hair, it also wore out within a couple months. As in- literally the center seating section started to get threadbare. We're not a gargantuan family sitting or jumping on these cushions, ya'll...just normal use. Very disappointing, given the extra cost. We'll be sticking with the Gunnared models for longevity (just wish they had more colors).
Gorgeous Fabric!!SusanThe fabric is absolutely beautiful! It is exactly what I was looking for.
The cushions are falling apart!EmineWe bought this couch to replace our 10+ years old “Karlstad Sectional” but after 6 months of normal usage when I attempt to wash the covers the inside cushions are all ripped off and falling apart, even the backsides.. it is a total disappointment, the material is cheap and now I am afraid to take off the covers one more time to wash them again! Not the same quality as “Karlstad” series.
The gray slipcovers don’t match!!AlyssaWe’ve owned the kivik sectional for years and still LOVE it. Recently we replaced the gray slipcovers as our old ones were well loved. It came in two packages.. the corner section and love seat. I realized as I took them out of the packages that they were different shades of gray. I took them back into the store and spoke with multiple managers.. but no one could help. The next day I called a number they gave me but haven’t heard back. So.. currently we have a sectional that looks like a gray patchwork quilt. We love everything else about this couch… but just a heads up if you’re going with that color.
Covers only have one side that can be up.LisaWhile putting the bottom cushion covers on, after having put the covers on the bases and the back cushions, I discovered that the bottom cushion covers only have one side that can face up!! Possibly designed by someone who either doesn’t have kids or doesn’t eat while sitting on their couch. This is a replacement for a previous cover where the seat cushion covers had two good sides. Since the cushions themselves aren’t flipable I would take the cover off flip it and put it back on if we spilled something or a stain showed up on the couch saving me from having to wash it right away.
Now a few weeks after having the new covers in place a little stain showed up despite being extra careful with these new covers and the only option I am left with is to take it off and wash it.
This cover is definitely more cheaply made and the seams are ruffled/gathered in places and thin (not good seamstress work) Also the front seams of the bottom seat covers tend to start sliding down the front of the cushions without much use and it would take quite a while for this to happen with my previous cover.
I have chosen to keep it so far but mainly because I didn’t want to take the couch apart again since it took me about two hours to take the whole couch apart and put it back together and put the cushion covers on. I have the corner sectional with loveseat attached.
On the plus side the cover has a pretty herringbone weave and feels softer than my original cover. Though time will tell if I get too frustrated with this cover and it goes back to IKEA!
Seams do not line upHollySeams do not line up correctly, lots of loose threads, quality of fabric is much lower than original covers, so I don’t think they will stand much wear and tear. Also, can only use one side as the fabric does not cover the entire cushion only what can be seen.
