Kallax - Utilitarian, Versatile, and Streamlined Design DavidThe Kallax line is a versatile, nicely designed system with a number of variations and accessories. A staple of IKEA utilitarian design. In this particular case , one of the pieces arrived slightly marred but it was more convenient for me to conceal that spot by placing it against a wall rather than attempt to return or exchange it. (Ordered online for home delivery.)
Kallax with a base: perfectPatriciaMy Kallax units and inserts are solid and useful. They solved a storage issue and keep my things organized and out of sight. And the new footed metal base is incredibly sturdy and nice looking. A great change for an IKEA classic.

Kallax Assembly - dowels and particle board splitAnonymous reviewerThe particle board chipped/split, rendering the assembly unsturdy as the pre-drilled hole was compromised. When assembling the middle shelf, the dowel broke in half, leaving the dowel half stuck on both the shelf and side of the unit.
