Great bookshelfJoyMy unit sits on carpet and I use this as a bookshelf for music sheets with most cubes filled to the max. It's been very sturdy and looks really nice.
I am small and was severely weak (have Long Covid) when I built it myself and it was fairly easy to maneuver when you have ample space. I did have it delivered as there's no way for me to lift the boxes.
Only complaint is that there is a chip on one surface. Thankfully it's on the inside but still, brand new product with a defect... The chip goes all the way to the particle board (I sharpied it) so I'm afraid as I slide books in and out, it might get bigger. I've made sure to not place a magazine holder as sliding that would certainly make it worse. I've bought other Kallax and they also have surface defects, though not as bad.
Great for books BarbaraThe Kallax shelves (with underframe, white stained oak effect/black legs, 57 7/8x37 ") provide secure shelving for our large collection of books. The white stained oak effect shelves receive compliments all the time — we have several units on a long wall in the living room. Lots of room above to hang art & photos, and the top of the unit is sturdy — great for lamps, etc. We used TaskRabbit for assembly, which was worth the extra cost. Very pleased!
