Poor assembly pieces KarleenLet me start by saying I love IKEA, and I have assembled many pieces before and know the drill( no pun intended) . This by far is the worst experience and I suggest if you want this particular unit you have other tools like an electric drill on hand. All the wooden pegs used to put it together didn’t fit into the holes. And when I tried to take them out to drill a bigger hole, they snapped off. I had to schedule a Task Rabbit to come see if they can save it, but isn’t that defeating the point/joy of putting it together yourself as well as keeping cost low? 2

No, that's not the case at all. That bit cost me $70 in accessories that I won't be getting back. Otherwise the shelving looks great.4

A little dissappointedGrayWe love IKEA and have a number of shelving solutions from them but this one is a bit of a disappointment. Inconsistencies in the manufacture of the Kallax unit caused it to go together slightly out of square, with some gaps in the panels and misalignment of the face of the shelving. We installed cabinets and drawers and these inconsistencies aggravated the process and caused some misalignment of the cabinets and drawers.3
