As a professional fabricator CourtneyThis is excessively fragile and delicate. There are no labels to differentiate the 'asymmetrical' shelves, just different holes. I feel like the average person could easily break this while assembling it because of the need to take it apart and reassemble when you make an error. The material is like corrugated cardboard with a plastic outer layer. I almost broke it despite the fact that I professionally build and assemble things on a daily basis. I bought 2 and deeply regret it.

paint scratches easily, came in pre-damaged and sounding like its full of rocksMikahThe color is nice but fresh out of the box the shelves had scratched off paint, bubbling, and peeling in a lot of very obvious places that arent hidden by the shelves later. There are also rough edges on the shelves so its probably more of a green veneer than green paint, and the pegs you have to use can damage the paint upon putting them in or pulling shelves out if you make any mistakes. The shelf is really light which I don't mind but the pieces all sound like they're completely hollow except for some weird rattling from every shelf, like there's debris floating around on the inside. The box didn't show any outside damage and it had been out of stock for a while so I'm disappointed that when I finally get my hands on it it's covered in dust and scratches on the inside and probably needs to be touched up with paint to look presentable. The paint is so easy to scratch that running your fingernail over it damages it and peeling off ikeas stickers rips off half the paint. Avoid this.
Looks nice but not strong enough for heavy mediaAmyWe bought this unit less than a year ago and within months, shelves have sagged and warped. We have many other expedit/kallax units and this is the only one that does that. The offset verticals don’t support the shelves enough. Recommend only for display objects, not for books or records.
Quality is borderline garbage these daysBenI have bought this same piece in the past. I was actually purchasing to replace an existing kallax shelf and the side by side comparison is shocking.
Major defects, the coating is overdone in spots and peeling in others. The legs inexplicably don't actually attach to the shelves. The whole thing feels very unstable.
I can't return at this point because it's set up but I am so let down. This used to be a great solution and now it's just flimsy nonsense like everywhere else.
Love the ColorDanaPros: It was easy to build, looks nice when set up, amazing color, versatile - the ability to stand it up for height or lengthwise for a lower appearance is great, inexpensive
Cons: The product is cheaply made. The pieces sound like those rain-stick instruments when you turn them over. Bu the end, I was in tears with laughter. For the price I was expecting the materials to match; it was the musical accompaniment that surprised me.
If you have small kids and/or rambunctious pets or teens, this one may not be for you. My kid is grown and the end result is pretty sturdy so I am pleased with the purchase.
Love these bookshelves VictoriaI bought several types of bookshelves and these are by far the best. Very straightforward assembly and everything slotted together well (unlike the traditional Kallax shelf I bought at the same time which was an absolute nightmare and looks cheap and shoddy). The green is a lovely color. I've had lots of compliments on these.

Disappointed StaceyMy first piece ever purchased. Love the color, it’s the main factor honestly as my house is from 1910 and doesn’t match many products. At first, it started off very easy to assemble. But then, as I pulled more pieces out of the box, many of the pieces were damaged and I picked up in store. What was extremely disappointing was when the hammer went through the side of the shelving unit while trying to assemble. So note, please do not use a lot of force because you will inflict damage. While assembling, I managed to chip quite a few of the shelves and I’m hoping this will help others because while it is a nice piece, it requires a softer touch apparently.
Found a paint match.MadelynWe just bought this for home, and bought a base to go with it. Took a while to find a paint match for the base, but if you use the shade chrome green by Benjamin Moore, it’s nearly identical. That way, the base matches!
