Nice shelfDariusThe shelf itself is fine, the only issue I had was that mine came missing one wooden dowel which is super annoying. It would at least help to have some extra parts, but luckily, I had one extra from a previous build.

Unfortunate experienceSaraThis is the third 4x4 Kallax I bought recently, and unfortunately, enough of the wooden pegs required to assemble the unit interior snapped in half so as to make the whole thing unusable. I like to think this an exception (rather than the rule), but it puts me out some amount of dollars and renders the remaining parts useless.

Storage Cubes JodieI have 3 of these for my craft room. I love how much storage they offer and they look really good. I also have the tall cube shelves. The drawers and other accessories fit these really nicely and make it look complete.

Perfect 12” LP storageAnonymousThis is exactly what I was looking for at a great price point. The pieces are very light although particle board. Each quarter holds about 25 lbs. I have about 120 LPs. This storage unit appears to hold 240 LPs.
The photos in the assembly booklet are pretty clear. The only issue I had was 2 screws were not screwing in. I found that the holes were not fully drilled. This was resolved (once I figured out the problem) by screwing in the screws. Then I could finish the project. For this reason what should have taken me alone assembling the cube became 2 hours instead of 40 minutes.

Protecting my albums from our catsDennisI bought a two cube and a four cube Kallax system along with five inserts w/doors and one insert w/2 drawers to store and protect my albums. This was my first time with Ikea so I was a little apprehensive but turns out for no reason. I got all the parts and pieces I was supposed to get. The instructions are simple, clear and logical to me and assembly was a snap. These items are well conceived and engineered making assembly a real pleasure. Not at all what I expected. The pieces are just what I had visualized and I couldn't be more pleased. I will add that not a single f-bomb was uttered during the assembly process which I think is a rousing endorsement. If you're shopping for unique, versatile storage please give Kallax by IKEA a try.
Love it!FebeGot two of these to put on either side of my fireplace. We have a wall to wall hearth and I needed something sturdy and decorative. One holds firewood and has held up really well- no scratches! The other holds our dvds and records. And I loved being able to get the KALLAX shelf divider to customize dvd player storage.
Unique storage option that fit just where I had some extra spaceAnonymous reviewerUnique storage option that fit just where I had some extra space under a kitchen island I have in my apartment. I wasn’t sure if I had enough space for two of these under the island counter, but I did so I got two and don’t regret it. I know that sounds fancy, but my apartment is actually relatively small (626 sq. ft.), so every cubic foot of storage counts. Overall, they may not be for everyone, but for the reasons above, they get 5 stars from me. I’d recommend measuring the space you plan to use them in first, and also consider the prices of the boxes you plan to put into the empty spots if you plan to use those with the item for storage!

Great piece, DIFFERENT dimensions Victoria KahnI bought two of the 8 shelf units a couple years back. I just bought the 4 shelf unit to add, and both the color is lighter as well as the height and depth are different. Still works and but is a bit of a let down. Overall good piece and easy to build.
Versatile Shelf ElementsRolandThe KALLAX shelf elements look very nice and clean, especially in glossy white. They can be used in front of a wall or in the middle of a room, since they are painted all around. You can also use them with the visible bolts at the top and bottom or on the left and right to minimize the visibility of the bolts. There are various types of inserts with drawers, doors, shelf dividers, etc. to customize the shelves as needed. The assembly is easy, the price is affordable. I fully recommend KALLAX.
Easy to build and great supportRolandoI bought it to store the beginnings of my vinyl record collection. It was easy to fit up, however I had to follow a youtube video to ensure I was getting it right since the illustrations in the manual weren't very helpful in identifying the different parts.
