These lamps can be both general lights and reading lights and can be switched on and off separately.
The uplighter spreads a pleasant light that illuminates the entire room.
You can easily direct the light of the reading lamp where you want it since both the arm and the head are adjustable.
You never have to change a light bulb as this lamp has LED light sources built right into it.
Using LED as a light source means that it not only lasts 20 times longer than an incandescent bulb, but consumes up to 85% less energy.
By dimming the lighting, you change the mood in the room.

Reading LED stopped working within a few monthsAkshayVery disappointed that the reading LED light has stopped working and there is no way to repair it. I have barely used this lamp for <3-4 months and 4-5 hrs / day. For a $100 lamp, this wasn't expected.
Reading Light Burned Out QuicklyRachelWe bought two of these and loved them initially. We hardly ever used the reading light, but one of the reading lights burned out after less than a year of use.
Stopped workingSusanA very nice lamp but after 2 years with minimal usage the switch for top light stopped working. Will not turn off and light remains dimly lit. Am very disappointed as it was relatively expensive.

Not bright enoughJaredI don’t think this lamp is nearly bright enough when the top lamp is fully dialed on. It is mood lighting and very soft but never gets bright enough to really light up a space.
Reading Bulb Out Too FastMorganThe reading bulb of this lamp died with less than a year and a half of use. I used it in a high use area of the house, so the light was on often but nothing crazy. IKEA says the LEDs will last 25,000 hours which clearly wasn’t the case as I had the lamp for <2 years when it burnt out. Even if I left it on for 24 hours a day 7 days a week, which I didn’t, it should have lasted for 2 years and 10 months. IKEA will not do anything because it’s out of its warranty period. I will say for the time both of the lights worked it was a nice lamp.
Still I believe a $120 lamp should last more than 2 years. Please save yourself the money and buy a lamp with a bulb you can easily replace. I am such an IKEA fan girl but this lamp was soo disappointing. For a store that focuses on sustainability efforts by keeping products in use longer- this one totally misses the mark. Once the main lamp goes dead this lamp will effectively be useless and end up in a landfill.
No Replacement BulbsKathyInitially, I loved this lamp. The uplight is adjustable and the reading light was the perfect additional for reading and close-up work. I bought this 7 months ago because the LEDs were supposed to last. According to the description, "The light source has a lifetime of approx. 25,000 hours. This corresponds to about 20 years if the lamp is on for 3 hours per day." Unfortunately, the reading lamp just stopped working. With no way of replacing the LED array or the reading light arm, I now have half a lamp.
It seems this is a frequent quality issue and I do not have the receipt, so the disappointment continues. The standard response is... "We recommend visiting our Returns Desk within 180 days (about 6 months) of the purchase date, along with your order confirmation/receipt, to get a quality inspection of the product, exchange or return. We truly apologize for the inconvenience and hope this makes things a little easier." Wish it were better quality or had replaceable parts.
Wonderful lampAnnThis is a perfect up lighter. You never see any glare from the light. It is dimmable but bright enough to light the room without another lamp. I have had one for nearly 4 years and it is still in great shape! I know that I cannot replace the light bulb but I can live with that hoping I will still be able to purchase another one when it burns out! The lamp is easy to assemble. It looks lovely.

Bottom lamp stopped working after less than 20 turnsAnonymous reviewerI bought this lamp because it provided great fill light and has a reading light included. However, the bottom lamp stopped working within a few weeks.
The showroom model had the same problem so I figured it was due to overuse. Unfortunately that’s not the case! Buy a different lamp or model.
Dimmer FailureThuyWe loved this lamp and it worked amazingly for about 3 years since May 2022. However while both bulbs still function, the dimmer light switch for the top light has stopped functioning. It looks like maybe a loose connection point in the dimmer switch itself is causing an issue where the top light flickers when turning on, failing to turn on most times. Since the switch panel is soldered on, we can’t really access it to fix it. It’s a beautiful lamp that worked well until it didn’t.
