Non-stick? Not at allMarthaI was pleased to find this pan because of the 13" size. It is ideal for stir fry and I can add a lot of vegetables. Regardless of cooking on medium heat, food starts sticking to the bottom in the middle of the pan within minutes. I kept using it for more than a year because I assumed my stove was to blame. Now I have a new stove and the food still sticks to the bottom of the pan. I experienced the same with the 11" IKEA 365+. Don't waste your money!

Teflon coating not durableChristianI have gone through two of these pans now within a year. The teflon coating is not durable enough, and the flakes or gets damaged even though I take extremely good care of it.

HappyAllisonHave been looking for an induction compatible egg sammich-sized "ceramic" non-stick pan for over a year. So psyched to find this. I have a lot of experience keeping ceramic pans in good condition (tip: magic eraser can restore some non-stick-ness. Better yet, never let oil bake on.) So I'm hopeful that this will last a long time. Only detracting one star as I think the handle should be a bit daintier for such a small pan.

High Expectations But DroppedCarrieThis pan seemed perfect for what was needed. It was heavy enough, the coating seemed a decent quality etc. Used it and hand washed etc but it still had a full chip in the coating within a few uses (no metal used). If I can return, I will. I'm disappointed.

What is sol-gel ceramic non-stick coating?
Sol-gel non-stick is often called ceramic coating and is an increasingly common replacement for other non-stick coatings in frying pans. It comprises mostly of silica and is created by applying a gel-like solution to the product and drying it in an oven. The result is a hard, glossy surface with non-stick properties.
