An Ideal Tea Infuser for A MugMarciaThis is easy to use and clean for loose tea leaves. The long handle it perfect for a mug. I've purchased these as gifts for tea drinkers.5
Tea strainerDeborahWell made, inexpensive, upholds well in the dishwasher. Loose tea doesn’t fall through as the mesh is designed with very small holes. It could be a better design.5

Okay but size is wrongKarynGreat, loved it but my loose tea says use 1 tablespoon, and I found that this is difficult to use as the one side of the ball doesn’t fit my 1 tablespoon. Maybe my tea has larger pieces? Great aside from that.4

Gift for my childSaraI can't really rate this product properly because it was a gift for my child who loves loose tea and was getting grossed out by the older ones we have in the drawer. Did I hear an exclamation of happiness when she received it? Yes. Have I heard any curse words at the time she first used it? No. Was she wishing it had a clasp on it similar to the gross old ones? Yes. Did the tea leak out due to said missing clasp design? No. Did I find one the next day still in its original packaging at the thrift shop for only $1? Yes. Was the Ikea purchase for $3.00 more than the thrift shop model but still a reasonable price given that it hasn't been in someone else's possession for who knows how many years before it travelled its sad journey to a thrift shop? Absolutely. I'd say, it's worth the 5-stars.5
Does the job but difficult to cleanGlendaIf you're using loose leaf that's comes in super small pieces, this is not the best tool. A lot of the loose leaf get stuck between the holes and cleaning is difficult coz who like to pick off all those small leaves.2

IDEALISK Tea infuser, stainless steel

A better everyday one cup at a time

Have you had coffee or tea today? Statistically, you most likely have. In fact, these hot brews are the most consumed beverages in the world next after water. They’re a part of life that can give a silver lining to any moment. That’s why we decided to update our selection of products to make that perfect cup – from the tea infuser and the kettle to the milk frother.

Malin Ljungström, who was involved in developing the range, shares her insights. “To many, the smell of coffee and tea means well-being and a homey feeling. Since we want to improve people’s everyday, we’re offering products that make it possible for more to experience more feelgood moments at home.”

Developing things that make a difference

Malin and her colleagues dug deep into coffee and tea cultures to find out what tools people feel they can’t live without. They talked to specialists and investigated living, eating and drinking habits. “We wanted to develop items that make a difference, so we’ve focused on a few, but carefully selected products,” she states. The team cooperated with IKEA Test Lab in Älmhult, Sweden. It’s an IKEA version of a James Bond lab where prototypes are inspected and evaluated. “A couple of the things we checked were that the thermoses can keep fluids really warm for a long time. And that the glass mugs and glass pots are durable and comfortable, even though they look and feel light and airy,” says Malin.

For all tastes and different wallets

No matter how you enjoy your cup, you’ll find the things that put an extra flavor to your drink in the range. Another good thing is that there’s something for all wallets. “It’s one of our contributions to a better life at home. A way to improve people’s everyday one cup at a time,” concludes Malin.

What is stainless steel?

Stainless steel is found in everything from building structures and cars to sinks and knives. It’s easy to see why it has so many uses. Stainless steel is hard and durable and has good resistance to corrosion – namely rust. It generally has a low nickel content, and for IKEA products we mainly use stainless steel that’s nickel-free. Like many other metals, it can be recycled again and again to become new, hardwearing items – without losing its valuable properties.
