The sofa have a soft comfort with high-resilience foam and pocket springs that follow your body and provide support – whether you are sitting, lying down or hanging out on the sofa.
Reversible back cushions provide soft support for your back and two different sides to wear. Thanks to the combination of polyester fibers and foam the cushions will retain their shape and comfort year after year.
This cover, made from Hemmesta cotton and polyester fabric, has a lot of character with texture, irregular yarns and colors that go tone-on-tone.
The cover is easy to keep clean since it is removable and can be machine washed.
A range of coordinated covers makes it easy for you to give your furniture a new look.

DisappointingAnneThis couch is a big disappointment after having & loving an Ikea Friheten sofa. I'd only had the Hyltarp a couple weeks when I realized the back cushions are nearly useless. They do not provide adequate support and have left me with postural issues. The depth of the couch and everything else is fine, but the lack of support ruins this product for me.
Wonderful sofa!!SusanWe purchased the Hyltarp sofa several months ago, and we just LOVE it! It’s firm, which is what I needed, sleeps great, and you can’t beat the washable slipcover! The only thing I would change is making the bottom cushion where it could be flipped over. You can’t do that because of the way the cover for that cushion is made, but you can flip the other cushions fine. The slipcover washes great!! If I had room, I’d buy another one! Please, IKEA, make a coordinating chair!
Looks pretty, NOT SoftVanessaWe specifically choose this sofa because it was rated as soft. We spent several months looking for the right style and comfort, and, after visiting the IKEA store, decided on the Hyltarp over a more expensive longer wait time West Elm sofa. The Hyltarp looks nice and I like the idea of being able to wash the slip cover as we are a pet friendly household. However, this sofa is no where near soft. After countless emails with IKEA about a replacement cushion, they cannot guarantee that a replacement would be any different. Plus there would be a charge for pick-up or I would have to drive the sofa to the store myself. Combine that with dismantling the sofa and all options are inconvenient. We are 3 months into owning the Hyltarp and are still considering whether to return it and purchase the West Elm sofa or have a custom cushion made. In the meantime, we periodically put the cushion on the floor and have dance parties in an effort to make it softer. ;-)
Beautiful!SandraLove this couch! It’s beautiful and comfy. Firm but soft. It gets more comfy with time. Love the slipcover idea and hope to see other colors in the gransel fabric.

If this is medium form I would hate to know Ikeas idea of firm. This cushion is SO UNCOMFORTABLE- gave it two weeks hoping it just needed to be worn in and puff up a bit but it’s awful- no one in my house has sat on this sofa for more than 5 minutes cause it’s that uncomfortable. It has a nice elegant look to it and I loved the blue color but it’s going back and the e process to return it is silly complicated- 3 separate ohonecalls to schedule a pick up and pay the $69 return fee. Had bought a great couch from ikea in 2018- this is awful.

Love GaryWe were looking at PB sofas that are very similar with a much higher price point. This sofa looks amazing and is super comfortable. The best thing is the slip covers are priced so well we don’t have to worry about it getting dirty or if we decide we want a different color. Shipping was amazing also. We couldn’t believe how cheap it was to have the sofa delivered to our house. We ordered the sofa and it was delivered the next week. Talk about A+ service.
Love it!!JennaMy biggest concern was how firm the sofa was going to be, and I will say at first it felt firm, but after a week or so I’m not sure if it needed a little time just to break in that top layer of cushion - but we absolutely love it, it’s so comfortable. The couch is really high quality and it’s comforting knowing there is a 10 year warranty, so if any cushions really breakdown IKEA would send new cushions. I highly recommend, I think initially we were used to couches that you sink into and have back problems, but with this couch it’s comfortable and supportive in all the right ways 😊
It Looks NiceSheilaBut it is NOT cozy comfortable. Have to use down throw pillows to soften it enough to sit on it for longer than a few (like, 10 max) minutes. Hoping the cushions loosen a bit to improve comfort, but not so much that it ruins the visual appeal. I have learned a lesson, however: don’t buy important pieces of furniture online on the recommendation of “Best Of” online YouTube reviewers, especially if comfort levels are as important as visual appeal. Drive to an IKEA store and check it out in person, even if it’s a six-hour round trip. I love IKEA, and this mistake is on me. If the comfort level improves with time and use, this review will be updated. It really is a good looking sofa. I was blinded by its beauty and affordability.
Style is great, but beware. It is definitely not "extra soft"! Anonymous reviewerI was excited to get this sofa, it states it is extra soft, which is what I was looking for. Delivery was great. Assembly was so easy, I did it myself in about half an hour. It looks fantastic. But I guess I should have read the reviews first, the sofa is anything but extra soft. It is not even moderately soft, it's very firm and quite uncomfortable. The firm seat cushion is tolerable, but the back cushions are awful. So firm, there is no comfort in them, it's like leaning on an extra firm bed mattress. I love the style, color, etc but am so disappointed in the comfort. Not at all what I was expecting. I hope it softens up a bit, or unfortunately, I will have really wasted my money.
Broke in one dayAhmadIt seems very strange. I had a great experience with the Farlov sofa I had in the past; it was amazing. I thought this new sofa would be an upgrade to the Farlov since it has one long cushion, which is perfect for living rooms. It is moderately firm. However, after we assembled it (which was easy), we sat on it and it broke! The frame broke. It shows two types of wood: compressed wood and solid wood. We are extremely shocked that it has a weak base frame. It could be a rare defect, so I hope the replacement is better.
Best Ikea purchase ever!CindyI have bought a lot of Ikea. This sofa was the easiest piece we've assembled. It is so comfortable. It has a firm cushion which I prefer and I have unintentionally napped several times due to the comfort. It looks great in my lakehouse! Neutral color is perfect for whatever color I choose to add. Just as important is the experience of purchasing and delivery. Ikea gets an A+++. It was delivered way ahead of schedule and brought into the living room. The salesman and delivery guys were exceptional! Friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. I'm buying another Hyltarp sofa with chaise. Thanks so much!

I've picked the color Gransel natural and it blends so beautifully with my other white neutral sofa from Pottery barn and my home decor.
It is effortless and it is also giving warm and coziness to our living room. Like a dressy but casual look. Now the price is absolutely a winner! Will get another set of cover just in case I have clumsy visitors! Enjoy it! you won't regret it!
