The fabric gives very good protection against the sun’s UV rays as it has a UPF (Ultraviolet Protection Factor) rating of 25+, which means it blocks 96% of the ultraviolet radiation.
It’s easy to keep the canopy clean and fresh since you can easily remove and machine wash it.
The air vent reduces wind pressure and allows heat to circulate.
The hook-and-loop strap keeps the fabric in place when folded.

Collapses with very little windJodyJust purchased and the umbrella will not stay open. It clicks into place, but continuously collapsing with light wind. Will be returning.
Update on my 2022 reviewAllisonI bought this item May 2022. It still looks great. Opening and closing it is a little stiffer than it was originally, but nothing to complain about. Since I live in a warm climate, it's out all year round so it's withstanding the elements. Definitely recommend.
No Replacement CanopyJackAs with another user, my canopy also ripped after a couple of years. I called Customer Service and was told they do not sell a replacment canopy fabric. Universal replacments don't seem to be available for this style of cantilever umbrella either. Very disappointed that I have to buy another complete product and dump a perfectly good metal frame in the landfill. Terrible.
NO replacement canopy - DONT BUY!!LorenaI LOVE this umbrella and I have been using it for the past 4 years. However, the canopy ripped and there is no replacement and getting one custom made costs over $250. Now Im stuck with a metal umbrella skeleton that would unfortunately end in a landfill because IKEA failed to produce a replacement canopy for it.
Top joint came loose in less than a year! HareneThe umbrella looks nice and is easy to install. However, it doesn't seem built to last in Michigan weather. The screw connecting the umbrella at the top broke off, and I already see some signs of rust. Not happy with the purchase.
Rusting after 4 weeksHarrisRusting mostly around base and around screws. Returning. If you live where it wont have water exposure, it is otherwise a good umbrella.
Nice constructionAllisonIt was easy to put together. I have cement blocks holding down the base so I didn't buy Ikea's base, but the blocks work just fine.
Opening & closing the umbrella is easy and the mechanism works well. There are several parts that are heavy duty plastic so we'll see how they hold up, but overall, so far so good.
