Product details

1 door with 4 different expressions. Choose to use HÖGBO as a glass door, with the included white or black panel, or place photos, fabric or wallpaper between the glass and the panel for a personal look.

Adding a door to BILLY bookcase gives it both a new expression and new functions such as hiding and protecting what you store.

Adjustable hinges allow you to adjust the door horizontally and vertically.

Good to know

1 door will fit BILLY bookcase 15¾" and 2 doors will fit BILLY bookcase 31½".

The door does not fit bookcases purchased in the spring of 2014 or earlier.

Tempered glass is 4-5 times stronger and more resistant to breaking than regular glass. In case it would break, it shatters into many granular pieces to reduce the risk of injury.

Care

Wipe clean with a damp cloth. Use only water or window-cleaner.

Safety and compliance

Handle with care! A damaged edge or scratched surface can cause the glass to suddenly crack or break. Avoid bumps from the side - this is where the glass is most vulnerable.

Poor quality metal frame and hingeNataliAt first, this door looked great, but the quality quickly proved to be disappointing. Everything was installed exactly according to the instructions. The first issue I noticed was the poor craftsmanship on the door frame—corners don't align cleanly, and it just feels cheaply made. Then the metal knob kept falling off, and worst of all, the hinges are poorly designed. They don’t hold the door in a vertical position, and within just two months, I already had to replace a couple because they seized up completely and wouldn’t open the door. This even caused the door to fall off the shelf, which is not only frustrating but also dangerous. At this point, I’d like to return it and go with something more reliable—specifically, a door that uses standard hinges mounted into wood on both sides. This wood-to-metal system simply doesn’t work.1

Double check color JamesI was under the impression this was black mirror the inset panel that goes in the door can be white or black, but not mirrored black it’s a miss guided picture/description3
Not worth itDanielI don't know if I just didn't install them correctly or what happened but these doors do not stay in place. The hinges have consistently broken out of place and the door tends to slide down despite the holds that are put in place. Also, the white outlines of the doors ruin the display on an 80cm wide billy.1

They work.ChrisIf you have an older Billy you will need to drill your own holes for the hinges. The holes in the older Billy don’t go from top to bottom and they have larger diameter holes for the shelf pins/brackets meaning the provided screws won’t work because they don’t have any material to bite into. This may not be the installation for just anyone with that being said. European hinges are a PITA sometimes but do offer a lot of adjustability. That being said the mechanism used to lock them into the door sucks. It’s a horribly cheap design and while they work they don’t feel the most secure. These are some expensive doors and they could have been better engineered.3
