Product details

1 door with 4 different expressions. Choose to use HÖGBO as a glass door, with the included white or black panel, or place photos, fabric or wallpaper between the glass and the panel for a personal look.

Adding a door to BILLY bookcase gives it both a new expression and new functions such as hiding and protecting what you store.

Adjustable hinges allow you to adjust the door horizontally and vertically.

A white/black panel to be attached behind the glass is included.

1 door will fit BILLY bookcase 15¾" and 2 doors will fit BILLY bookcase 31½".

The door does not fit bookcases purchased in the spring of 2014 or earlier.

Tempered glass is 4-5 times stronger and more resistant to breaking than regular glass. In case it would break, it shatters into many granular pieces to reduce the risk of injury.

Care

Wipe clean with a damp cloth. Use only water or window-cleaner.

Safety and compliance

Handle with care! A damaged edge or scratched surface can cause the glass to suddenly crack or break. Avoid bumps from the side - this is where the glass is most vulnerable.

Stick out like a sore thumb.SarahThe metal really goes against the wood look of the billy. There is a large gap that is near impossible to adjust and fix. These do not assemble easily at all and stick out, not very flush.1
Looks good but... very difficult to install/adjust.Anonymous reviewerThese were far too difficult to assemble and install. The install markings on doors are barely visible. Attempting to get both hinges in the proper position turned into a trial & error festival of installing, locking them down, putting the door in place and then taking it all down and trying again. This was exacerbated when we attempted to put two doors next to each other. Getting them to match in height, left to right, was maddening. After installing two sets and finally getting them lined up, our final task was installing the handles. 3 of the 4 snapped right into place. The last one, of course, would not clip into its proper position. I tried to order replacements. I found that there are two different part numbers for the handle but nothing that tells you the difference between them (10086510 & 10086511, mine are dark) and it turns out that both items are out of stock so it really doesn’t matter which is which. They’re currently unavailable, leaving me with one handle missing.2
Perfect Billy Glass Door OptionDianaI LOVE this door for the billy bookcase and think it's the best option out there, especially if you collect anything and want to still show off everything in the bookcase without having any area of the display blocked (like you might with the Oxberg). I also love the option of being able to put the minimal handle where you want, but honestly, I don't personally use it since I love the clean look without it and I can open the door fine. I really hope Ikea comes out with a size that fits the extension shelves so all my shelves are able to be covered and protected.5

Perfect for Displaying FiguresDavisAfter using Detolfs and Billys with Oxberg doors, I've found the perfect combination: the Billy with Hogbo doors. The metal frame is solid, but thin enough to make the contents very visible. Installation was very easy and uses the existing holes on the Billy. The mounting brackets are adjustable too, making it straightforward to adjust the height, spacing, and depth of the doors.5
