Preferred plain to non-stick!DragosI wish that Ikea would have offered on this size (9") a plain model. The non-stick version didn't performed as expected and honestly, plain stainless steel can be a good non stick if used properly.

Not a nonstickNutsaThis is NOT a non-stick pan. It is a real struggle using. Stuck food is then impossible to clean!
Not non stick anymoreFlorentThis pan is not non stick anymore. It is impossible to cook on it without the food sticking to it. The old model of the same pan were fine but the quality and non stick material must have been changed.
Not good anymoreFlorentI’ve purchased several sets of this model of pans over the years and was always pleased with the quality. On this last set however the non stick material has been modified and it does not work at all. One can not cook an egg, even when using oil, without the egg sticking. It’s pretty much unusable.
Nice panJaneThis is a nice pan. The steep sides leave a large cooking area which is great. Nothing has stuck and it is easy to clean. My only negative observation is that the inside shows faint scratches even though I’ve only used wooden utensils.
Great so far ... one month in!MarkI purchased each size of the Hemkomst for Christmas and so far they have been great. We are careful cleaning and using the correct utensils, and zero sticking so far with daily or 2x/day use. We have an induction cooktop and no issues. We'll see how they hold up long-term but I love them - the design is awesome deep and very sturdy. We're going to get a second set as backup in case they are discontinued.
The old version was betterPaulThe older version was great. Nonstick lasted and the pan heated evenly. This new version's coating is terrible. The nonstick quality died quickly and everything sticks no matter what. I do not recommend this version.
Horrible, everything sticks!AnonymousEverything sticks to this pan. It has been the worst non stick pan I’ve ever owned. I bought it because it was supposed to work with induction but ended with everything stuck to it and burnt. Even with gas everything sticks. What a waste of $27

Poor qualityKarolinaAfter 1 year of using this pan, I can say it is the worst pan I've ever owned. All food started to stick after just weeks of using it (yes, I followed the instructions for cleaning, always preheated etc.). Plus it is really heavy and hard to manipulate, sides of the pan are weirdly shaped. Will not buy again.

6 months and still going strongAnonymous reviewerThis is now my go-to frying pan. I still use just a smidgeon of oil/butter when I cook, and with the non-stick surface the food slides out without leaving any residue at all in the pan. It washes up in just a few seconds. I use it all the time, and after 6 months it still looks and works like it's brand new.

What is sol-gel ceramic non-stick coating?
Sol-gel non-stick is often called ceramic coating and is an increasingly common replacement for other non-stick coatings in frying pans. It comprises mostly of silica and is created by applying a gel-like solution to the product and drying it in an oven. The result is a hard, glossy surface with non-stick properties.
