Great trivetVickieI already have a similar slatted trivet, but it collapses on pegs that also constrain how wide it can expand. The cords let this one expand _a lot_ wider. And it hangs up! So far this has been the only trivet I can consistently find when I need it: it's hanging right there on the wall.

SO glad I stumbled across this - very versatile, can be compacted or expanded for a variety of sizes. Would be a thoughtful, useful, and inexpensive housewarming gift with a few other IKEA kitchen items.
I would just be careful not to cinch it too tightly. I haven't had any problems, but it is a metal rivet type of thing around the drawstring at the bottom. If pushed too tightly it may loosen, but with gentle pressure I think it'll be just fine. Recommended.
