MODERNStephanieI love this lamp. I have white and 2 blue(discontinued). If you want warm dimmer light, get a regular 4 watt incandescent night light bulbs. 7 watt incandescent night light bulb is brighter but not as bright as ikea leds.5
Impossible to assemble HeejungI had this lamp before so I ordered again. However this time, the item was impossible to assemble. The ring/round part was not unscrewed as it was instructed in the guide. I tried in many ways but then had to give up :(2

Nice little glass floor / table lamp.GregThe lamp is basic and simple and does its job well. On the plus side: 1. it's affordable. 2. The cord is a two-prong model, so it will work well in older houses without three-prong outlets. 3. The cord includes an on-off switch. 4. The glass is frosted, so the bulb is generally not visible and the glow is a softer, diffused light. On the downside: 1. It's glass and thin, easily breakable glass at that. Be sure it's not going to get kicked or knocked off a table. 2. There is no light bulb included 3. It uses a candelabra-base light bulb -- more expensive and fewer options than a standard-base bulb. I wanted to use color-changing WiFi bulbs, but I can't find one that works with my app in a candelabra base. 4. It's square. Round would be a nicer option in my opinion. 5. Only available in one size. 6. I don't recommend having these shipped as they are quite fragile and may not arrive all in one piece. 7. As is usual for IKEA things, (minor) assembly is required.5
DO NOT BUY - Impossible to assembleMichelleI don't know how I'm supposed to assemble this. The instructions say to unscrew the plastic thing at the bottom of the light fixture but mine will not come unscrewed no matter what. This is a disappointment and waste of money. Don't buy this product.1

Great but be carefulLisaThese look fantastic. They do take the E12 bulbs, not regular bulbs. Think skinny, candlestick base. Be careful picking stickers off the outside because you will scratch the frosted glass with your fingernails. I left the stickers on the bottom and simply peeled off the IKEA information sticker very very carefully, from the back. I also used a soft cloth to handle them as I set them up and moved them around because they show fingerprints which buff right off with a soft cloth. Reviews mention missing the plastic collar piece. Both of my lamps, these pieces were threaded on the lightbulb base and needed to be removed and reinstalled differently. Remove the plastic collar, put the bulb base through the bottom of the lamp, and then screw the plastic collar back on from the inside of the lamp to hold the bulb base in place. I bought e12 bulbs off amazon that dim and change color with a remote. I love these lights. Will buy more.5

Material

What is glass?

Glass is mainly made of sand, soda, and lime melted at a high temperature. Tempering or various additives gives you extra-strong and impact-resistant glass that in some cases can be taken straight from freezer to oven without cracking. A big benefit is how glass can be recycled over and over without the quality deteriorating. Also, a lot less energy is needed to melt recycled glass compared to new raw materials. Our goal is to eventually use only recycled glass in our range.
