Not sturdy, so creaky and noisyYonaI bought this for my first apartment because it was cheap and simple, and it works – it is a bed frame and holds a mattress. However, since it's just bent metal sheets held together with a few screws, the screws come loose very quickly and the whole thing becomes a wiggly, creaky mess. Even once the initial creak passes, it makes these clicky noises that don't go away unless you shake the bed a bit to dislodge whatever is clicking and making noise. I hate this bed frame.
Not sturdy, middle leg brokeSimonThe slatted base kept on falling due the product didn't include many of the pins that sustained them. After a month or so, the center leg started to bend. Since day 1, it was shaky. now I have to buy another bed frame.
Simple,Anonymous reviewerJust what we’re looking for in our guest room.
BED FRAMEOliviaMy child likes it, its a perfect item for someone that is always changing their room around
Not sturdy or stable DanielAfter the first few night half the bolts started to unscrew they wouldn’t stay tight the bottom middle leg started to bend. The frame would still wobbles when everything is screwed in and tightened
Dose not support mattress BrandyDose not support a mattress. Not well displayed that you have to buy the slats separately. Bought mine online and had to go back for a 2nd trip. Even with slats, not supported. This is going to shorten the life of my mattress.
Broken since day 1FatmaI'm extremely disappointed with this bed. It was incredibly difficult to assemble, and within the first night, it started falling apart. The main issue is with the middle leg in the center of the bed, which broke almost immediately. This caused the entire metal frame to bend, making it unstable. Every time someone sits or lies on it, the frame moves and shifts, creating a lot of noise and damaging the floor. The bent leg has already put a hole in my floor, and the bed has been a constant headache ever since. I do not recommend this product to anyone looking for a sturdy and reliable bed.
Hardware does not matchCraigThe nuts and bolts do not match and will not thread. Impossible to assemble.
waste of money!!!Oliviahaven’t even had it a month. already broken. i REALLY WISH i read the reviews first. my boyfriend & i aren’t “heavy” people at all. we aren’t ever jumping around in the bed because we have wood floors & it slides. we were going to bed the other night & heard something break. the middle leg broke right off. the slats have fallen out numerous times (even before the break) not to mention we had to buy those separately. so all together it’s like an $150 bed frame which is a pain in the butt to put together, we’ve kicked the heck out of the legs so much that we literally had to buy foam to put around the legs. i have never had such an inconvenient, annoying piece of furniture in my life. gotta throw this away and get a new one. NOT from ikea either. and no Ikea, i can’t get a refund/replacement because i don’t just have my receipt laying around. i wasn’t expecting something THATS HOLDING A BED & $150 to break!
Center support JodieThe bed was easy to put together and looks nice but the center support leg is bending a lot and I have to fix it a lot. We only had the bead for maybe two weeks. It would be nice if there was a way to add extra center support. Like extra legs that can be bought to support the center better, and a bolt that actually goes through the three layers of metal.
Impossible to assemble ChristopherThe 36 included nuts and bolts don't actually fit together due to a manufacturing error and now we have to wait over a week for IKEA to ship replacement parts because IKEA is unwilling to pay for decent shipping.
After two years had to be replacedLok As said in some other reviews, the middle leg in the center of the bed broke and the entire metal frame gets bent and the bed goes concave at that point. Have to buy a new bed frame completely which is a waste to the environment. They should allow spare parts for the middle metal parts and leg since this is such a common issue.
bang for the buckEliasarFirst things first. Easy to bang feet and ankles on legs and Corners
i had no problems assembling this although i could see how someone might find it confusing and maybe leave some the the hardware loose. also maybe the size of the sleepers taken into consideration. My big issue and i probably will return it because of this. the placement of the legs is not ideal for a small space very painful on the toes and ankles. if the legs were offset a few inches from the edge of the bed it would be ideal
JunkSamanthaEasy to put together but middle post collapsed after less than a year and maybe 10 uses.
It’s decentShelbySmall easy to put together frame. Doesn’t include slats to support the box frame or mattress.
Guest bedroom bedDougBetter than an air mattress. This is better than other frames because can store in small area. The metal frame is more compact. The bad part is the bolt/nut combos shear and some of them break in the connection between the head and shaft. the nuts interlock into the frame. Tedious to find replacement nut and bolts.
Second time is a charmAlexisThis is the second bed (I returned the 1st one) from IKEA, 2/3rds the price and more durable than the 1st. It took an hour to put together...directions as usually could be better (maybe some WORDS would be useful). My only issue is the little white plastic floor protectors got stuck in the carpet and ripped little threads out of it when we tried moving it. I bought two, so I was aware of this issue with the second bedroom, and I still managed to have two plastic pieces in bed themselves in my rug and it took 3 of us to get it out without completely ruining the rug.
IKEA furniture = skills in deep breathing and knowing when to walk away for a minute to regroup.
Otherwise they are durable to two teenage boys and I would recommend them.
Only as a temporary solutionAlexAs the title says, don't expect this to be anything more than the most basic cheap metal frame. Mine just broke after a year, and during that time it was loud, unstable, and clearly just not well made. I should have just saved my money and put my mattress on the floor.
Not stableAnonymous reviewerBought for my 5 year old and it’s not stable at all. Save yourself the hassle
Metal is LoudDylanWe’ve had this bed for two years and its been creaking and loud since around week 3. Always the last thing you want with a bed frame. If you roll over it creaks, if you sit on it it creaks, if you’re okay with your bed being loud af then here you go. I don’t recommend cheaping out on your bed frame, it was $89 when we bought it and it still wasn’t worth it.
