This kitchen island gives you extra storage space and a good work surface where you can prepare food before it's time to put it on the grill.

On the shelves there is plenty of space for plates, glasses, utensils and other things you need for the barbeque party.

The work surface is made of stainless steel – a hygienic, hardwearing and durable material that is resistant to rust and easy to clean.

The movable shelf is made of steel and has a durable, powder-coated surface that is easy to wipe dry.

If you like gardening, this kitchen island can be a perfect potting bench where you can have plant pots and gardening tools close at hand.

Hopefully it holds upJames C.Looking at pictures and reading what other people have said about it, I felt confident to purchase it. When I received it, I realized that it did not go together securely as it used for tabs that you bend up to secure the back panel. The side panels only had two tabs. Nothing secured the bottom of the back panel nor the side panels. I use 75 stainless steel self tapping screws to reinforce and hold together the panels. Simple tabs are not going to hold it together. There was nothing on the side of the panels to hold them against the unit. We have a strong winds in our area, and I knew they would collapse. It’s a shame IKEA did away with the screws as you can see if there were some holes that at one time you must’ve used screws. It is supposed to be waterproof. However, there are many holes that are open and I’m concerned about the seams of the panels. Time will tell I added some caulk on the back panels. Just to fill large gaps I was expecting more robust assembly.2

The Perfect Stand For My Pizza OvenBobThe Grillskar is the perfect size to hold and store my Ooni pizza oven. When using the oven, I place it on the top shelf, placing it at exactly the right height. Then when done, I store it on the center shelf, and cover it all up with a nice protective cover I found online. My only suggestion is that I wish this came with casters so it could easily be moved around my deck. Well done Ikea!5

What is stainless steel?

Stainless steel is found in everything from building structures and cars to sinks and knives. It’s easy to see why it has so many uses. Stainless steel is hard and durable and has good resistance to corrosion – namely rust. It generally has a low nickel content, and for IKEA products we mainly use stainless steel that’s nickel-free. Like many other metals, it can be recycled again and again to become new, hardwearing items – without losing its valuable properties.
