Either make Bergshlt shelf longer or redesign with more interior support relative to mouting holesJohnGiven that the bracket has maybe ½ inch of support on either side of the mounting holes, and generally studs are 16" apart, the matching shelf is too short (31 ½") and should actually be 32½ inches so that more of it ends up in the bracket. giving greater strength. Or redesign bracket so that there is at least 1" of support to one side of the mounting holes instead of the 3/8 to ½" that there currently is.3

Misleading. Disappointed.JaredI think it’s extremely misleading and almost deceptive to display this mounting bracket and the BERGSHULT shelf together in stores when neither come with the hardware needed nor instructions of what type of hardware is necessary to hang a shelf of its weight. The BERGSHULT shelf is very heavy, and requires some know-how to hang. Disappointed because I’ve been a loyal IKEA shopper for over 10 years. They’re usually clear with instructions and make it so a novice can accomplish. Not this.1
