Favorite IKEA mugs everDANIELLE A.These have surpassed a prior design as my favorite. They remind me of some very expensive Denby mugs that I couldn't bring myself to spend the money on, but these are actually a better size; the others are 13.5-oz monsters. Will buy more soon. Wish there were other colors as well. As someone else pointed out, one downside is that the finger hole only accommodates one to two fingers.5
Looks nice but not functional or comfortableTomer K.The cup looks nice but you can put only one finger through the holder which makes it heavy to hold especially when it's full.1

Great cup!GabrieleThe second I saw the cup I had to have it. Unfortunately there were only two left. I use it for tea & coffee.5
Big & GorgeousCAMILLE P.I collect dishes like art so I scooped up everything in the blue Gladelig line a year ago when it first hit the shelves. Gladelig is far better looking and less expensive than every reactive set I've seen. At first, I wasn't going to get the mugs because I have tons of cups & saucers, glasses & mugs I've never used. But when I saw them in person, they screamed TAKE ME HOME WITH YOU!! They're bigger than I expected and rest so comfortably in my palms. I imagined sitting by the window, cradling my warm fingers around a cup of ginger lemon tea while watching birds at the feeder on a crisp, spring morning. So I took 8 home with me. That was a year ago and haven't used a single piece of Gladelig yet. One day I'll sit at the table with friends, sipping some fragrant fluid from this perfectly proportioned mug with a big smile on my face because I didn't pass up the chance to get them when I could. Every piece in the collection is beautiful to look at whether used functionally or not.5
Cute cupsJenwe love these artesian looking cups! great for our morning Joe5
Beautiful mugLindaGlaze color is very striking, mug is a good size but handle is not very functional for a mug.3
They match my expensive dishesLauren Y.Bought some more expensive dishes with a pretty pattern and a gray background. But the set didn’t come with salad plates or mugs. I looked for something that would compliment them and came across these and the matching plates. It’s the same color gray as my dishes, with a similar glaze and the same dark rim! It’s like they were made for each other. It really completes my set. So glad I found these.5
This glaze is just wonderful.BonnieThis glaze is just wonderful.5
Great, but...TRACYLooks great, perfect size, but only one finger fits through handle making it a tad awkward to lift.3
Stylish mugJamesReally like the design and coloring. A great complement to my dinnerware.5

What are ceramics?

Ceramic is a heat-resistant and durable material that has been used by humans to make practical objects for thousands of years. The base material is different types of clay that are oven-burned and become things like terracotta, stoneware, pottery and porcelain. At IKEA we mainly use ceramic for plant pots, porcelain, washbasins and kitchen sinks. Since it can be shaped and even glazed to the desired color and shine, the possibilities of styles and looks are endless.

Designer thoughts

Designer thoughts

"GLADELIG tableware is made with reactive glaze, which gives the surface a livelier, handcrafted expression. We also put a lot of work into finding the right proportions and curves to make the shapes feel harmonious. The idea is that the plates will suit many different dishes and occasions – from TV dinners to weekend meals. One favorite is the medium-sized plate with slightly higher edges which we think combines tradition and contemporary design in a nice way."
