Bought two. Plan on a third. BernardI found the first one in the showroom. As I enjoy taking the day to peruse Ikea. After several years of way and cats, it was time for a replacement. Not finding this in the showroom, I found the part number to order my second. This time, I am not going to wait until I need it.
The chair is very comfortable. Not one of those that you squish down in and have to crawl out of. Being a recliner, you do not have to worry about a matching footstool. The bookcases are black, so this red adds a good contrast.
It is easy to assimilate, and I did it on the spot.
Good until it breaksDavidCompact recliner with good comfort for the price. But about 1 year in, as happens with a number of IKEA chairs, it will break.
The chair top is held together by industrial strength staples and glue, which is good for quickly putting the top together but not for long-term viability. I weigh about 230 lbs, so the chair might last longer for you if you are a smaller human. Also, I did screw in a board to the top segment after it cracked, which I hope will give it another year or so.
In summary, if you buy this chair, it’s best to think of it as a 1ish year lease, like many of IKEA’s chairs.

Gistad ReclinerChristianaI love the size ( for a small space ) and the color . I would have rated it a 5 but it’s a little hard to recline just by pushing backwards . You sometimes have to get up to push by hands . I have only had it about 2 weeks so I am hoping it will soften up a bit for easier manipulation. I have not yet able to get it to fully recline , nor stay in the mid recline without having to reset reclining .
