3 Drawer file cabinetJenniferHorrible instructions for assembling the product. The product is broken, and I've had to deal with 4 different customer services reps who have all given me different answers on how to get this item replaced. I will not be spending any more money with Ikea as they have horrible customer service when something goes wrong with a product. And they do NOT label any item for assembly anymore, its simple a picture and you are left to figure out if you have the right piece and how to assemble it. After spending over $1200 dollars and getting horrible treatment, I'm done with Ikea!

Bars are too thick for regular hanging file foldersSusanThe bars used to hang for the folders to hang on are thick and allow almost no play for the files to hang. I am using letter sized (the brackets allow you to choose from letter, A4, of legal). There is no other way to set the brackets (pre-drilled) and they are slightly (perhaps by 1/16" of an inch) to wide). The file folders barely hang and slip right off. I haven't tried the other sizes, however, if the brackets for letter-sized are too wide, I'm sure the others are too. What a disappointment.
Bars are too thick for regular hanging file foldersSusanI have letter size hanging folders which don't perfectly sit and fall off. The sizing (while maybe good for legal or A4) aren't good for letter.
Great File CabinetBernardThis file cabinet was last pice of furniture I needed to complete my Ikea man-cave. When I decided to redo my man-cave, Ikea furniture was on the top of my list. The furniture easy to maintain and you the cost is very reasonable.
Pleased with final result.JudithGreat cabinet with 3 drawers. Directions, even with you-tube video help, very difficult in adjusting drawers. Somethings need verbal instruction and, if Ikea can produce legal disclaimers in 30 languages, they should be able to customize instructions.

Expect more for this priceJamesIt must be the case that there are different teams of employees who are responsible for writing an editing, the instruction manuals that are used for these kits. I say this, because I have never experienced a worse instruction manual on an IKEA product than this file cabinet. The locking mechanism assembly instructions are incredibly unclear and resulted in a failed installation on round one. There are areas in the instruction manual where it says you were supposed to follow a procedure four times when you’re only supposed to follow the procedure two times, besides the instruction manual, the most offensive part of this particular product is that when it is installed perfectly, the doors will not sit flush, even though it is perfectly level, and this is because the front and back portions of the doors that are connected to one another through side pieces are not secured strongly enough to counter the file hangers that create a lot of tension on the top part of the drawer.
Strong Cabinet, Easy AssemblyDuaneI was a little worried about assembly based on other reviews. It's a little long because there is much to do, but it is very easy. The two main side panels with all the drawer slides and individual drawer lock hardware are fully pre-assembled. You just add the top/bottom/back panels for the main cabinet, then literally snap together three mostly metal drawers, and it's done. Like most Ikea furniture, you must pay close attention to the instructions. One reviewer's lock didn't work. I can tell you why, they skipped over the part where you rotate the lock bars 180 degrees, before putting on the end holders.
The leveling feet had plenty of adjustment for my very sloped to drain basement floor.
I like the easy access wall anchor points on the cabinet (they didn't include the wall anchor hardware, but I'm fine with that).
I only needed to do some minor leveling of individual drawers and it was easy following the pictures at the end of the instruction manual.

Great product. Assembly not so muchKristineI love the cabinet now that it is together. Although I didn’t do the assembly, I watched my partner struggle through it. The back had a couple holes in the wrong spots. Thankfully, he was able to ‘fix’ the issue.
Galant for my personal officeDanielVery solid build and assembly was smooth. Looks very nice. Locking feature works well. Only disappointment is that the drawers could have been deeper. There is a gap f an inch and a half from the back of the drawer to the back wall.

Nice Looking but hard to adjustTimothyThis is a very nice looking piece of furniture. I waited about 6 months for this to come back into stock and grabbed it the minute I was notified it was available. It can be put together by one person but it does take time to do so. Once together it looks great but trying to adjust the drawers to make them even especially the top one is challenging. Overall it looks good and fits nicely in my office.

What is particleboard?
Particleboard is made from recycled wood and sawmill leftovers – so wood pieces with the wrong shade, woodchips and sawdust become a resource instead of possibly being discarded. We use boards for things like bookcases, bed frames, sofas and kitchen frames. To protect from wear and moisture, we apply varnish, veneer or foil that adds to the furniture's look.
