"CLICK"? NOPhilipWhat do you do if the most important connection doesn't work? You're up a creek. I have to hold the bottom drawer together whenever i open or close because i cannot get the connect to click, however many times i've tried. And there' no cutomer service. No manual to help if there's no click. Other parts don't click either. What a waste
Difficult AssemblyHazelI started to assemble as I had assembled the desk without a problem but needed my son's help to finish assembling. Took about 3 hours. I agree with other reviews about the bottom drawer not being flush against the cabinet. Only the top drawer locks but maybe that has to do with the two remaining pieces. Having trouble with the last 2 pieces will have to contact Ikea. I also wish one/two of the wheels would have a lock. Would not recommend.
Lock doesn't workJimJust purchased this and the lock doesn't work at all. Just like everyone prior, I've tried every way possible to get it to lock, but it won't. What a waste of $, but more importantly, what a waste of my time. This is going back!!
Poorly madeBrandonI’ve seen other comment about this same problem and clearly they do not value customer feedback. The bottom drawer of my unit won’t sit flush with the cabinet so the lock will only work if I push the drawer in all of the way. No way to fix it even though I have tried all of the things.
Very disappointed YukoMy husband and I had a very difficult time building this cabinet. The top drawer is very shallow and impractical. After spending hours building it, we decided to return it. What a waste of time and effort.
Attractive and WorksMarcy I purchased this, the three drawer version, and the two-drawer large filing cabinet. After putting one together, my husband and I became much more efficient at assembling the other two. A challenge, but not impossible. No major problems. I would call the office furniture that IKEA sells as office lite. These products work fine for my home office as a writer. I don't know how they would work for someone who really needs to do heavy duty filing or have a lot of supplies. The cabinets are attractive. White, clean lines and modular, I will say the depth of the drawers was disappointing. I was used to the industrial type of metal filing cabinets and deep desk drawers. I bought a new desk too from IKEA that does not have desk drawers, so I hoped the two, modular Galant cabinets would make up for that. They don't do that, but I've made do. Overall, I am satisfied with my choices of the two Galant modular cabinets and the two drawer, filing drawer. Didn't use the locks due to the reviews.
The lock doesn´t workJuanI carefully followed instructions step by step. After mounting it, when setting up the locking code the lock got blocked. Right now it is not moving either with my code or with 000, the default one. It is not me, because I have another one like this en Europe and it works perfectly fine.
Apart, the quality of the pins keeping everything together is very poor. They are plastic when they used to be metal. Replacing those metal parts by plastic sets up an expiring date for the drawer unit.
I´m very disappointed.
Please, Ikea, contact me. I´m trying to order the lock separately, and can´t really find it.

Not well madeAnonymous reviewerThe cabinet looks good but doesn’t work well. The locking mechanism didn’t work and it’s permanently in lock mode. Also the lower from drawer panel didn’t fit properly into the side panels. Drawers don’t line up correctly so when you open one it requires that you adjust it in order to close it. Would not recommend this product.

Poorly made for the priceRandalThe front wheel on the file drawer does not work well on carpet. The unit is very heavy and the hardware is not robust. IKEA can do better and produce one with a 10 year garuntee.
Many flaws, mismatchesDanielI'm on my second unit after returning the first one, and it's worse.
Things start off inauspiciously with the back of the small drawer not matching the picture in the assembly manual. Then it turns out that if you line up the pilot holes in the large drawer bottom with the side brackets, they push out the front of the drawer and prevent it from locking. Doesn't matter the orientation, there's none in which the pilot holes line up. It's not clear that the screws do anything to secure it anyway, and the bottom isn't load-bearing if you use the rails to hang files. If I'd realized that the first time, I might have just removed the screws and not returned it. Which would have been a major improvement because on this second unit, the locking slider is slightly stickier, and doesn't drop unless I smack the unit after locking it. If there were any more in stock I'd exchange again.
Top drawer front chips easily installing screws. Should've made it from MDF.

Plastic Cam Lock Nuts are brittle Plastic!ScottBack in the day Cam Lock Nuts would be metal, solid and unbreakable. Now you are getting plastic cam lock nuts that will break if you tighten just a little too much. I was careful but still broke two on the build for this product. If Ikea is going to provide plastic ones to save money they should at least throw in a few extra just in case.
