Attractive and UsefulMarcyI purchased this, the three drawer, and the two-drawer modular cabinets. After putting one together, my husband and I became much more efficient at assembling the other two. A challenge, but not impossible. No major problems. I would call the office furniture that IKEA sells as office lite. These products work fine for my home office as a writer. I don't know how they would work for someone who really needs to do heavy duty filing or have a lot of supplies. The cabinet is attractive. White, clean lines. I will say the amount of space for filing was a little disappointing. I was used to the industrial type of metal filing cabinets and deep desk drawers. I bought a new desk too from IKEA that does not have desk drawers, so I hoped together all the Galant pieces would make up for that. They don't do that, but I've made do. Overall, I am satisfied with my choices of the two Galant modular cabinets and the two drawer, filing drawer. They have forced me to declutter.
Almost perfect!!SandyThe product is so close to being perfect for my home office. It fits perfect in the spot we needed it to go and allows us to put a print on top. The only down falls are you can’t change the direct of file folder to maximize all the space and hold more. Second was getting the drawers together alone sometime was a struggle. But we did get it done!!
Not worth $500EdenThis height and storage worked for what I needed. Wasn’t thrilled with the price especially when I saw how much plastic pieces were used. The fasteners which are usually metal are plastic and broke as soon as a tighten so be careful. I little more complicated and time consuming to assemble. Should be half the price.
Filing CabinetDebiInstalled this inside a pax closet system in a large office closet. Put shelves above and drawers next to it and it makes a great office. During a remodel I had them put a couple of outlets in the closet and I have my printer and wifi and any other electrical items I want hidden in the pax closet. Now the office is very neat and tidy.

lots of room for filesIrisEmptied a four drawer filing cabinet into this two drawer lateral file. Everything fit with plenty of room to spare. Went well with the four drawer matching cabinet.

Ideal two drawer lateral file cabinet.ClaytonI had my eye on this cabinet at Ikea for months. I wanted it in white but it was not available in that color. I am guessing because of supply chain problems. I was at Ikea recently and noticed it was available in white, so I purchased it. I have assembled it, but have not placed any files it it as yet. I am very pleased with the appearance and construction.

This has been the worst assembly everJacquelineI've put many Ikea furniture products together in my life time but the locking mechanism instructions and the fronts to these drawers suck. I've tried several times for those drawer fronts to stay on with no success . The drawers are two huge for women to carry and manipulate .

Very nice traditional filling storage.MarieVery nice traditional filling storage. My 2 items side by side are looking pretty good in white. The drawers are working smoothly and well. Seems strong for my heavy load of storage. "Quality" (in all areas of life) seems to be hard to get these days. It should not be a luxury. This one seems to have good quality. Time of use will tell. Back Order is a problem for all the items I am looking to buy.

What is particleboard?
Particleboard is made from recycled wood and sawmill leftovers – so wood pieces with the wrong shade, woodchips and sawdust become a resource instead of possibly being discarded. We use boards for things like bookcases, bed frames, sofas and kitchen frames. To protect from wear and moisture, we apply varnish, veneer or foil that adds to the furniture's look.
