PerfectAnnaThis duvet insert is perfect for for us- light and warm5
Absolute GarbageNatalieI never write reviews, so let me save you from wasting $129.
I drove to the store specifically so I could feel the different comforters in person. The display model was quite plush. In fact, I had bought the same one about five years ago, so I left feeling confident in my purchase.
When I got home, I opened the flattest, thinnest, crinkliest duvet I've ever seen. The instructions said to give it a few days to fluff up, so I did. I waited three days, then washed it as directed. There was absolutely zero fluffing.
If you want a good idea of what this thing feels like, put four feathers in a garbage bag and lie under it. Honestly the garbage bag will probably be warmer and more comfy.
To make things even worse, there are no loops for attaching the duvet cover, and the duvet doesn't even cover my whole king size bed (or fit in the cover).1
Just perfectXiruiI was researching whether I should upgrade my current FJÄLLBRÄCKA and turns out this is the best option. Its total weight (Queen Extra Warm 101oz) is barely larger than FJÄLLHAVRE (Queen Warm 99oz) and is warmer! The cotton shell always weighs more than the down filling, and this one has a lightweight shell.5
Do Not Buy, Feels Like a Cotton SheetJoshVery disappointed with the FJÄLLBRÄCKA duvet insert. I originally bought the FJÄLLARNIKA light warm and loved it - fluffy and comfortable. When I got a new bed I decided to upgrade to the more expensive FJÄLLBRÄCKA. Big mistake.
A standard lightweight comforter has 25 to 35 oz of down. The FJÄLLARNIKA has 32 oz. The FJÄLLBRÄCKA, which costs $99, has only 14 oz - less than half. This is not made clear anywhere at the point of purchase. You are paying more for significantly less product.
When I contacted support about returning it, they did not acknowledge the issue and are requiring me to pay $15 in return shipping. I should not be eating the cost of a return for a product that is misleadingly marketed.
Check the down fill weight before buying any IKEA duvet.1
Duvert insertAnonymous reviewerFits perfectly and the right amount of warmth for California winters.5
Not what expected for the priceAngelaThis was not what I expected for the price. I would have been happy if it cost half the price. Very light weight, and fabric is stiff.1
Stays warm in the winterMikaI bought this for my child but I did test it myself. Took a while to get warm (maybe 20 min) but once it did it kept me comfortably warm for my nap. My child seems to be cozy in it for overnight winter temperatures (house feels like 67 F though our thermostat is set for 69). We live in a dry climate with decently cold nights (low 20s F to low 40s F throughout the season). Not too noisy, and hasn't been pokey like some down + feather-filled pillows or blankets I've experienced. Washed and dried well (though needed like 3 gentlest dry cycles even aided by wool balls) in our non HE washer and dryer. No particularly bad smell, especially after the wash and dry.5
Smell and decrease in qualityTatyanaI have been purchasing the down duvet inserts for the past 8-9 years and recently, I have noticed the decrease in quality with these comforters.
First of all the smell!!! I have aired it outside for many days as well as placing them in the dryer on low heat with wool dryer balls to no avail.
Secondly, please, please, please either put some ties or some kind of clasps at the corners so the duvet is able to stay in place.
Other than that, I'm generally satisfied with these inserts.2
Warm duvetGrayceWe had a lighter duvet but needed something with more weight. This duvet fits the bill. We love how warm and cozy we are. This quilt is all we need!5
freezing outside and comfy underneathWendyI bought the fjallbracka queen size a couple of years ago and had to write this review! It’s been absolutely freezing outside and I don’t keep heat on in my room. The temperature goes down to 47f at times and when I get under this blanket I warm up within minutes and sleep so warm and cozy all night long. Best purchase ever!! Especially in these super cold days it is light weight and beautifully warm underneath. Only downside is the difficulty having to get out of bed in the morning!😁5
What happened to the quality?SebastianI grew up using IKEA duvets and trusted their long-lasting quality. After moving from Europe to the U.S., I expected a straightforward purchase, but encountered repeated issues instead. Within weeks, sections developed missing feathers and uneven fill that shifted between squares, leaving areas (especially at the feet) without coverage. This is one of the warmest option offered, yet it failed to keep me warm. I returned the first duvet and experienced the same problem with the replacement. I'm truly sad the quality has declined on the product I've loved for decades, and I will have to start looking elsewhere for a replacement unless they fix these issues.1
Great Down ComforterAyakoAnother Christmas gift that the recipient thoroughly enjoyed. Keeps her warm, but not too warm, washable, and looks terrific with the new duvet cover and pillow shams.5
Great Duvet!!RobertThis duvet inset is quite amazing! It is pretty fluffy, lightweight, but still keeps me nice and warm. If your body runs warm like mine does, this is a lovely product!5
Not the right sizeAnonymous reviewerFor nearly $180 you would think that this would be a good investment. However the king size is barely big enough to cover two people in a king size bed. There is about 1 square of overhang on the sides but when you are lying in the bed, there is none. 3
Super warmJeanneHusband is always cold and I’m always too warm so we now have separate duvets and he is very much enjoying the warmth of this one!5
I love it so muchNataliiaIt’s awesome5
Fluffy and warmMonicHas some weight to it and definitely lives up to the expectation of extra warm. Living in a place that can get to subzero weather, this blanket it a saving grace. It’s so fluffy and appealing. LOVE.5
Perfect comforter for 60 degrees F.JudithLightweight, but warm. Previously had an IKEA quilt with the warmest rating that was unsuitable for 60 degrees, way too hot.
This comforter is washable in your washer at home, water temp: 60 degrees5
Good choice for cooler nightsAnnaWorks well for cooler nights5
It needs a little tweakAnonymous reviewerLove, love, love the comforter, even warmth. You need to add button holes in the corners and ties in the inside corners of the duvets. I see a lot of requests for that and no response from Ikea.4
