Assembly NightmareScottBought it today and was excited to get home and assemble it. Even with two of us, it took 4 hours. The wooden shelves didn't even have pre-drilled holes for the wood screws. Instructions showed the use of a screwdriver and a pointy tool to start the holes. Screwdriver is to be expected...but the other tool is somewhat obscure and would rarely be used in an average home. Very disappointed. Was planning to go back and buy a couple of end tables from the same line...but not willing to spend the extra $20 just to buy the tool (the price we found online at our local home improvement store to buy the tool). If I am ever fortunate enough to get one of those coupons, I will return and buy at least two of those end tables.3

Great shelf! Takes time to assemble.GayleI bought this yesterday and in the afternoon and it took me several hours to put together. I am 67. Good thing I have a tool box since no tools were provided. You need a Phillip head screw driver and and awl or something with which to start screws for installing each of the shelves. The shelf came well boxed and nothing was damaged. No written instructions, just diagrams. Two people can assemble, but I did it myself. It is very sturdy! I have three 30-40 lb. antique, cast-iron Singer sewing machines on the shelves. I highly recommend this self! If I could, I would provide picture.5

Difficult to assemble and no pre-drilled holes on woodYann-JongI have been assembling Ikea furniture for over 10 years, and this piece is one of the most confusing and easy-to-mess-up furniture. The guidance is confusing and you have to drill holes into the woods as there are no pre-drilled holes. I would recommend buying other racks.1

We did have trouble putting this together and ended up having to reassemble it once. (OK...Maybe twice!) I won't give this less stars though because we usually have trouble with IKEA instructions! It's expected! This product was on sale the day I bought it and I was very pleased about that. Looks so good!5

I bought five of these for books and stuff. They are extremely solid and sturdy and look beautiful. Assembly was a little difficult as the instructions could have been better but these are a solid bargain.
