Some sloppinessZachIdk if this is a comment on this piece or IKEA in general now, first piece of furniture I bought in awhile.
This has 2 simple wood panels and both had many surface defects. One I could hide on the underside, the other I needed a replacement. Bigger shock: *there are no pilot holes for the screws*, the instructions are literally to get an awl and make some holes. Come on; a mass manufactured product can put some holes in a plain wood rectangle. Mesh side also has a visual defect I didn’t notice until put together, but I”m not taking this apart. Finally, dimensions were misleading. This product page needs to show exact inner dimensions of the shelves, including HEIGHT! I have like 1mm of clearance in all 3 dimensions for the computer I’m putting in here.
It seems sturdy and level though.3
Perfect MatchHollyI'm glad to see IKEA expanding this line. The pieces are great and sturdy. The only thing I wish IKEA would do is add a back panel to the cabinet area to make them more suitable for placement away from a wall.4

But the new place is smaller, with white walls, and raw oak colored floors. So I ordered two single units (only available online), and I use one in the bathroom, and one as a key-drop. 5

Great design, slightly tricky assemblyBrianI love the look and practicality of the unit. I deducted a star because assembly was a little tricky. The shelves do not have pre drilled holes and instead you have to use sharp screws provided to cut into the wood yourself, while also holding the wood in place even though it doesn't sit perfectly flush (you have to assess whether it is even on both sides). Eventually I got it well enough, but this could be improved.4
Just what we neededMarissaWe've been looking for something nicer to store our cats' food and this fit every perfectly. We have a few other Ikea pieces so it worked in space. Really liked the mix of metal and wood. Also my husband didn't have too much trouble putting it together.5
