Product details

This lamp has an opaque inner shade and a colored glass outer shade, so it provides both ambient lighting and direct light.

The heavy marble base allows the lamp sit evenly.

This lampshade in glass is mouth blown by a skilled craftsperson and therefore unique.

If you want to be able to easily change the light according to mood and needs, you can dim and switch between warm and cold light wirelessly if you complete the lamp with TRÅDFRI remote control kit. Sold separately.

LopsidedRiverthe glass doesnt fit even with the lamp beneath it. Its a small error but noticeable. It took so long to get delivered and it would be such a hassle to send it back. It was also DIRTY!!! When I first opened it there was so much dust on all the pieces I dont know how they managed that. I had to assemble it and then disassemble it 3 times because I Kept finding dirt. I would like them to send me a second one to make it right.2

I don’t see how this can become an heirloom as intended by the designer if it’s falling apart so fast with normal use. I can’t return or exchange because it’s been too long. IKEA’s more premium products aren’t worth it in the long run.1

Material

What is glass?

Glass is mainly made of sand, soda, and lime melted at a high temperature. Tempering or various additives gives you extra-strong and impact-resistant glass that in some cases can be taken straight from freezer to oven without cracking. A big benefit is how glass can be recycled over and over without the quality deteriorating. Also, a lot less energy is needed to melt recycled glass compared to new raw materials. Our goal is to eventually use only recycled glass in our range.

"I always want to design products that feel timeless and genuine, both in shape and material. The EVEDAL series is inspired by Scandinavian design from the mid-20th century and my goal is for them to be lamps that you want to keep your entire life, and maybe even pass down to the next generation. The most characteristic thing about it is its outer shade in colored glass which encloses the inner shining light ‒ something that I think gives the lamp a beautifully poetic look."
