Incredibly hard to assembleDianeI've had and assembled IKEA items for 25 years, so I'm not new to how it works. The first one went together easily, the others are dang near impossible and I'm going to have to hire someone.1
Good luck putting this togetherKatlynnThey've done away with their standard cube assembly and in it's place is a click lock system with a plastic nob to slide into place in particle board. The force needed to do this isn't negligible and you fail and ruin the sockets if you don't have it aligned on the first try.. buyer beware. This is cheap for a reason3
Find the piece labeled number 1!! StephenOne side has a deeper grove for better fitting!! It’s very discreetly labeled with a 1. You have to start with the deeper groove with the pegs so the back piece can slide back further to attach the last side. That’s why so many of the reviews say that some were easy to put together and others were impossible to assemble. They go together as easy as the video if you find the correct piece to start with. If you lay the two pieces with pegs side by side you will be able to see the difference. You will attach the side with a shorter grove and pegs last for easy assembly. 5
Disappointed & Poor Assembly Anonymous reviewerSo disappointed that I could not get the last corner to work. Tried for hours. Ugh.1
Love these cubes for storage!DianeLove these cubes and assortment of colors! Useful for storing Lego projects, books, toys, etc. The simplicity and functionality of the cubes allows creative placement anywhere extra storage is needed. 5
Clean and simpleSylviaEasy to assemble5
Not worth the frustration of assembly, inconsistent qualityJasonI ordered 6 of these total: 2 were easy to assemble, 2 required patience/mallet, and 2 were near impossible to put together. Poor, inconsistent quality overall. Looks like the value of the product went down from $20 each to $15 which speaks for itself. The ones that assembled fine looks nice but frankly not worth it. 2
Good materialSaraGood performance easy to assemble 5
Easy to assemble IF u follow directions carefullySaraWell designed and easy to put together IF you follow the directions and don't skip a single step... I cannot stress this enough. I find this with all the IKEA things I've assembled. Put it together on a carpet and lean with your weight to press the pieces together and don't put the 4 sides together before you put the back in like I did!5
ridiculous waste of moneyJamesThe video that shows the woman on the carpet putting one together is a lie - if you look closely after she fits the last side on you'll notice that the back panel isn't set properly. I only bought one and it's going in the dumpster because it's damaged and would cost too much to return. This is my last adventure with IKEA - too much trouble and now it's even more costly.1
Extra Parts required!!!!!!JohnIkea does not openly state the need for a mounting rail if you're going to attach them to a wall as a free floating shelf. You have to dig into the "good to know" drop down on the website. The tags in the showroom should explicitly state necessary wall mounting hardware is not included and a separate tag for that hardware should be displayed, or a bin full of parts should be placed at the display.1
Cannot out togetherRandallI’ve watched the videos online and I cannot get the last corner pieces to line up. I have been fighting with it for over an hour and now the particle board is flaking off. I am P!SSED! 1
Great storage Leigh AnnDurable materials. Easy to put together without tools. These have many uses. 5
Extra Shelf in BathroomHindeWe needed a little more shelf space in our master bathroom and these are perfect! Sturdy and a great hanging system, the weight is very evenly distributed and solid on the wall. (Plus, it comes in a range of great colors!) Yes, this cube shelf exceeds my expectations!! 5
not hard to put together if you folow directions. LoriOk so putting these together, at first we were like, What! These do not go together as easy as the video shows. YES they do. One side is marked 1. Start with that one , do your sides then te last end. It slides right in, with a bit of pressure to lock as they all do. But the last side the grove isn't as deep so it goes right in.
It's not a design flaw it's a user error!
These are nice, sturdy and great size. I used them in my livibgroom on the wall with wall anchors from ikea. These literally take less then 3 mins to build. 5
EketFredGarbage. Could not assemble simple item properly. Returned.1
Eket Cubes Make Organization EasyAnonymous reviewerI have a small master bath and more items than my vanity will allow. I decided to go to Ikea and found this new product (at least to me) that might do the trick. I admit that I was a little hesitant because I was not too fond of measuring all the cubes to hang on the wall. Little did I know Ikea provided a template. Let
me tell you, it was the best thing they could have ever done. Everything else was a cinch after using my lever and paper tape to plan the hang. Coupled with the adult color options, nothing elementary about it, my Eket looks fabulous!! Thank you ❤️5
Worst Ikea product everMariiaI understand that it is chip so I anticipated some issues with qualities. But assembling the product is a nightmare because it requires some tricks to attach the last wall to complete the shelf. I gave up and carefully used a resin-head hummer to finish the ugly gaps. At the end I smashed it leaving some cracks on the outside. Goes to garbage.1
Made a cute little table AmandaAdded the legs and it’s a cute little side table in my son’s room. Perfect height for his low chair. He’s 8. 5
Cute but not easy!JulianaThese cubes are very cute and practical but the fact that Ikea sells them as easy to assemble baffles the mind. I have done several of these at this point and there hasn't been a single one that hasn't required some light hammering (which risks ruining the board) or basically me just accepting that one of the sides will be slightly off-kilter. Every single product I have bought from Ikea that required actual tools to assemble (including a kitchen cabinet!) has been easier to assemble in comparison/proportionately speaking.
Like I said, they are cute though, and a practical solution for some awkward storage needs around the house, so it's a good bang for the buck as long as you take the video on the website with a grain of salt.3
