Useful, look nice; simple to put together, easy to useKarenthese and the shelf insert are the best (most useful, easy to use, look good) items to use with the cube shelves (Kallax). They are simply made; require no assembly and allow storage of things like (in my case): yarn, cards, materials, papers, art supplies. They are deep, so a lot of small items might get lost or shuffled together, but I use the shelf insert for those. I love these.5

Not What I ExpectedHeatherHaving purchased many storage cubes in my life, and never having seen one without a hard(ish) bottom (usually fabric covered cardboard or similar), I expected this to have one. It does not. Also, the zipper at the bottom drags on the shelf every time you pull it out or push it in. When loaded down, it will scratch the surface. I am very disappointed with this product, and if I lived closer to Ikea, I would be returning them.2

Material

What is polyester?

Polyester is a durable, quick-drying and insulating material that is optimal to use for textiles and as filling in pillows, quilts and furniture. The material is made from crude oil – a limited resource. Since IKEA doesn’t want to contribute to more virgin oil being used, we are now gradually switching to recycled and traceable polyester from sources like PET bottles. What’s nice is that polyester can be recycled over and over, without changing or losing its great qualities.
