The first ones purchased back in 2021-ish were made in Thailand. They were perfect. The proportions were beautiful and minimalist without being pretentious. It was a marvel in low-cost design.
Unfortunately, sometime in 2022 production was moved to China and the current Dinera mugs are just a tiny bit taller, wider and thicker. Not by much - but enough to change the proportions slightly. What was once an understated elegance of modern design is now a chunky diner mug.
I use both, but my last made-in-Thailand one is my favorite and I use it daily.
PLEASE Ikea! Either return production to Thailand or update the specs to the previous tolerances - they were much better. 3
Too little handle for so much cupKentI purchased, then returned this item. The design and finish are excellent. But, when I got it home, I quickly realized that a handle which was designed to accommodate only 2 fingers was not enough for such a large cup ; it needs a handle that is large enough for 3 fingers.3
