Reviews

Excellent choiceKhasanWas a bit scared about installing it after reading some reviews. It was hot as hard as it was expressed by others though. One of the lampshades arrived broken (I ordered it online), but IKEA replaced it with no extra charge.5
It is so hard to install.XiaojunThe lights look good, however, to find the right positions to slide in the two spots without clear guidance is hard. You c cannot see the positions, and it requires. a 100% flat and level ceiling. I still don't know whether I slided both sites in, it leaves a big gap from my ceiling and it is not stable.2
Mounting is a challengeMichaelVery cool fixture but I had to return it. Requires a perfectly level j-box as the very odd mounting system goes flat to the ceiling. J-box in my ceiling is slightly below the drywall, so this fixture wouldn’t mount flush.3
I love IKEA SerhiiI have bought a few different types of ceiling lights before. All of them didn't match my expectations. The one I bought from IKEA was made exactly for my room. Good quality, great appearance and not expensive. 5
Beautiful and brightAnonymous reviewerI replaced a 1970s era fixture in my dining room with this beauty. It instantly morphed the room with a lot more light and a lot more style. The electrician who installed it was impressed, too--his first IKEA light fixture.5
great look at a great priceScottnice looking. at least the bulbs are glass. The rest is plastic junk4
This looks fantastic in ourJasmineThis looks fantastic in our 1940's era kitchen; just the right mix of retro, classic & modern. We got the highest wattage bulbs which provide more than enough light. The part that attaches the ceiling is low profile so if your electrical box sticks down from the ceiling much, you may need to trim out the fixture or find a way to get the electrical box a little further into the ceiling.5
Not worth the effortConstanceI'm a fan of all things Ikea and usually have no difficulty assembling their products... until this lighting fixture. The installation process isn't as simple as the diagram makes it seem. After spending more than an hour trying to 'click' the base into the plate, I gave up. I'll be returning it.2
Nice lampYuliaWe did not have any issues with the installation like the previous review said. Lamp looks good in our home office.4
Pretty, but poorly designed installation systemAnonymous reviewerLooks nice and finish quality is good, but bizarre installation system that does not hold fixture snug to ceiling. Surprised it wasn’t engineered better.2
Nice fixture but horrible installationAnthonyNice fixture but horrible installation design.2

Material

What is glass?

Glass is mainly made of sand, soda, and lime melted at a high temperature. Tempering or various additives gives you extra-strong and impact-resistant glass that in some cases can be taken straight from freezer to oven without cracking. A big benefit is how glass can be recycled over and over without the quality deteriorating. Also, a lot less energy is needed to melt recycled glass compared to new raw materials. Our goal is to eventually use only recycled glass in our range.
