Works great for what it was designed forRogerAll the people that treated this product low clearly didn’t read the description. This is a sugar shaker that dispenses a small amount of sugar at one time.
Some reviewers said it didn’t work for liquid. That’s not what this is for. Some said the inner tube was too long and that it didn’t dispense past the tube. Guses what? That’s what it’s for! This product dispenses a small amount of sugar each time you tip it over, and that tube is what measures the amount dispensed. To keep it working you need to keep the level of sugar above the half way level of the jar.
With that said, this product works great as designed and intended. Each time you tip it over, it dispenses a little under 1 tsp. Old time coffee shops used to have these types of dispensers for people who drank coffee with sugar. One tip and it dispensed approximately 2 cubes or 1 tablespoon of sugar.

Not good for sugar because it will only empty the small amount which is above the top of the tube.DouglasWhen turned upside down to pour the sugar, only the small amount above the tube would pour out. I use in instead for cooking oil, however the same problem comes into play. Already threw the receipt out and have scraped the label off. I can write off the $4.
Flawed designMicheleWe were excited to get this sugar shaker only to realize that the design is slightly flawed. The extra long straw makes it difficult to dispense sugar as once the sugar level goes below the level of the straw it no longer flows out. You end up shaking it to get the sugar just so in order to dispense from the thing. Perhaps this is what they meant by sugar shaker?

Not as sanitary as I would likeMarshaI like this item, but the fact is that is open to the air, so whatever is in the air is going in to the tube.
Not what I expected.DarneshiaIn a little disappointed by this product. Once the sugar level gets low it becomes increasing harder to get the last of it out. Perhaps a spout would be better, or maybe if the opening was set to one side to catch the last as you tilt. Also, some sort of protective cap to cover the top when not in use.
